Rumour: EBGames taking pre-orders for Donkey Kong 3D?

There have been sightings of boxes advertising Donkey Kong 3D for the 3DS, and it is apparently possible to place pre-orders for it in store.

So, what do we reckon? Spectacular jumping of the gun? A baseless mistake? A genuine leak?

I still hate Donkey Kong dunno why but do not like monkey and apes must have been bad experiences as a kid from planet of the apes trolling me with that ending

The SMash Bros. boxes next to it are a clear sign they're more than willing to take your $5 on anything at any time, perhaps even shit they've made up.

Whoa. Bizarre. Seems likely that it's an actual thing if GameStop has gone to the lengths of making pre-order display boxes (with a graphic, even).

"Coming 2012" eh? Maybe this is Retro's rumoured new 2012 project.

Nintendo already said that's coming though.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Guys, come on, don't make me see things like this, since I would DIE for a DK Land Returns for 3DS. Come on...

Seriously, how reliable is EBGames. It's the first question to ask in cases like this, especially after what happened with Play.com, MH and the "oh, this 4ch photoshop MUST be legit, since it's coming a great Heaven, and so they'll announce it, let's publish it!!!111!!!" XD

EDIT: And now I'm remembering that Eurogamer journalist saying that we would have gone "bananas" for a certain announcement.

Yeah, didn't even look at the pic at first, the Smash box next to it could mean it's all fake.

I think it is more likely EBgame trying to make profit by interest from all of those deposit pre-orders.
That's why some games are not due, just for long term deposit pre-order.

Seeing Nintendo want to revitalize the DK franchise, I will not be surprise if a 3DS DK game is coming.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I would love another Retro DKC game. One of the the best Nintendo games of recent years.

Donkey Kong Land 2 on the GameBoy was my first game ever, and I loved DKCR, so I'd love Donkey Kong Land Returns.

Please be 2D!

My argument is that Gamestop is more than willing to take your money. If they're promoting pre-orders on Smash Bros., why not do the same on another inevitability? If anything, they probably hope you forget about that $5 and it rots and just becomes pure profit.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
2D Mario is coming this year, I don't see them also releasing a DK plattformer in the same period.

So is this a 2D Donkey Kong in 3D, or a 3D Donkey Kong in 3D?

Hopefully 2D, following in the footsteps of the masterpiece that was DKCR.

I wonder if it's the right time, though. I believe DK works better following a year after the release of a 2D Mario (which I think is scheduled for this year). Mario would be the trailblazer that sells the system, DK gives the masses more of what they want.

Of course, 3D Land might have already fulfilled those criteria.

I'm so excited for an hypotetical Donkey Kong Land Returns because you can see how already Country was basically ready for 3DS, with all the perspective games ( going far into the background, hidden zones noticable only paying attention to certain details, etc.etc. ).

And because Country itsel was a pure work of art.

Geez how many first party games are in simultaneous development?? Great news if true though! 3DS is shaping up to be a beast.

It actually says "Donkey Kong 30". For Donkey Kong's 30th anniversary, Nintendo's going to release all three of the original DK arcade games on a single 3DS cart!

that...that would be so not cool

I'd even take a DKCR remake. i liked the game but the controls were really a pain for me
