Sony said from the get go it was an exclusive demo mate. And in the end this is to the benefit of the consumer. Microsoft money hatted a franchise that has always been multiplat for a limited time. Big fucking difference in wording when MS refused to say time exclusive.
To be fair, if it wound up a PlaySTation 4 exclusive, Xbox One owners would still shit their pants.

I think PT as a teaser is definitely exclusive (now that it's accomplished it job), but Silent Hill shouldn't be exclusive considering it's built on the FOX Engine. I imagine it'll be PC/PS4/XB1 (maybe last gen too, who knows).

Just an exclusive teaser demo. Sony didn't even announce that it was Silent Hill, would have ruined the surprise, I don't know why people think a big budget Konami game would be exclusive?
I get the impression this started pretty recently since now that MGSV is nearing completion, KojiPro has tons and tons of staff (300? 400?) that need something to do when the next Metal Gear is in pre-production which usually only requires ~30 or so staff. I'd be surprised if it was actually on last-gen.

You criticize the article for being silly and then go on and say the game is most likely a timed exclusive. That doesn't seem very logical to me. What information gives you that impression?

Because theres quite a difference in the level of popularity between Metal Gear and the Silent Hill franchise.
Honestly given how far away Konami has gotten from making traditional big budget video games I'm shocked that Silent Hill is still a thing. I was totally convinced at this point that Metal Gear and PES were the only games they'd make from here on out.
The fact they *havent* said what platforms the new game will be made for leaves open the possibility of this being a Tomb Raider like thing (and given the shitstorm that happened there all parties would have been smart to not do the same exact thing). Extremely unlikely of course, but possible until Konami gives some clarity.

It is Silent Hill a series that went multiplatform a long while back from Konami, who are on most platforms these days. It will be multiplatform. Not sure why they would want it to be exclusive anyway. It will likely sell probably a lot more on PS4 anyway.

At most, the only thing I'd expect is for Sony to help out with advertising on the game. It's not a series that lends itself particularly well to DLC, nor does the horror genre really benefit from any kind of exclusivity, unless it's a situation like Fatal Frame on Nintendo systems, where the platform holder is the one paying the bills for development.

How is it silly to assume sony wont have some sort of deal for this game. Sure it is more probable that its just a marketing deal but its far from a stretch at this point that their wont be a some kind of exclusivity deal.

They're porting MGSV to Steam. Kojima don't care. But he prefers the Sony platforms judging from his tweets.
Guessing cause people would have said the same thing about a big Squinix game a few days ago.
PT looks to be an exclusive proof of concept demo. No one ever said anything about SHs, and I highly doubt Sony is publishing it.
Thinking about it, they would have gotten in on the credits and then pushed it hard if they were funding the project. I suppose they could moneyhat Konami, but hopefully not. No one wins when they do that.
