Oh boy.. better call in the komissars to stand guard, because this is just ?????

Russia recruiting female prisoners to make up for huge losses, General Staff says

Everytime the RuSSkies does something moronic, you think they cant possibly come up with any worse ideas, and yet..

Great deal. If you manage to not get killed you'll be granted freedom after a few rounds of gang rape by your comrades.

Bakhmut has been one long exercise is bleeding Ruzzia out as much as possible, before the inevitable counter offensive.

I cannot wait until it starts.
I honestly have no idea what Russia is attempting to accomplish here. Obviously the Ukrainians see opportunity in inflicting 15:1, or whatever the ratio is in casualties, and keeping the Russians occupied while they prepare for a counteroffensive, but why do the Russians keep at it? Bakhmut feels like a microcosm of the entire war tbh. Completely pointless slaughter and destruction which can only really end in Russian retreat.

Hierarchy of trapped fools who all want to throw the next subordinate under the bus than face the wrath of the next above them. Ending at the top with Putin aka "Don't fail me again" Darth Vader.

At current rate we're about 2 months to hit 200k dead orcs reported. From NATO estimations we know that NATO thinks the reality is about 1,5x what Ukraine reports.

So in about two months 300 thousand russians will lay dead in this war of conquest. Let's say the ukrainians are managing an overal 1:3 KD, that means 400k human lives. This is starting to reach catastrophic levels.

It's always been the tactics of the Russians. Down throughout history. They chuck as many bodies at a situation as possible, because their corrupt military system doesn't allow for well trained, well equipped troops, capable of independent thought and strategy. That's why Russian casualties in WW2 are so grotesquely higher than allied casualties. The west knew exactly this is the way Russia would try to wage this war, and that's why things have gone the way they have.

Only democracies train efficient modern armies. That's why I remain entirely unconcerned about the 'military might' of the Chinese.

Remember those 800 T-62's the RuSSkies were going to refurbish, statement from last year? Well, they did manage to find 800 to do so with, by emptying museums, and have managed to by working in three shifts, restore a whopping 40 to working order since august!!! :p

(only sauce in Swedish atm, https://www.expressen.se/tv/nyheter/putin-tommer-museum-pa-stridsvagnar-/).

Also, intense....

It says the drone was on a routine mission in international airspace when two Russian jets tried to intercept it.
The US European Command said the crash on Tuesday was the result of an "unprofessional act by the Russians".

US and allied forces will continue to operate in the area, it added. There is no word on the incident from Russia.

"Our MQ-9 aircraft was conducting routine operations in international airspace when it was intercepted and hit by a Russian aircraft, resulting in a crash and complete loss of the MQ-9," the US statement said.
Several times before the collision the Su-27 fighter jets dumped fuel on the drone in a "reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner".

Fuck them.

That's a great way to push the USA to give more equipment to Ukraine.
Russia, once again, proves to be a master strategist in the art of screwing up.

Not really , it’s unmanned.

Still an act of direct aggression in international airspace. In terms of legality, attacking materials is no different than attacking personnel. If we're talking about the appropriate response, it would be perfectly acceptable grounds for having NATO fighters escort the drones and put a couple of AMRAAMs up the tailpipe of whatever Ivan tries this stunt again.

If an aircraft intercepts any kind of aircraft, including drones over international waters, and initiates hostile action, you demand it to stand down, if it does not comply, you blast it out of the sky.

Of course, russia would whine, but russia whining is nothing new, nor relevant.

Basically, what russia did is literally invite NATO fighters over the Black Sea to escort unarmed NATO assets with absolutely ironclad legal justification. Mind you, they already can be there, but now they've been provoked to be. Any further escalation is 100% russia's fault.

The sinking of the Lusitania and the aggravation of US interests by Barbary pirates are two glaring examples of how foreign interests can and will throw themselves into a war over aggression against their non-military interests.

Frankly, I am hoping Russia keeps fucking up and sucks a NATO member into this, just a little. The war would end in a week if that were to happen. Putin is not going to throw his power away doing something as foolish as using a nuclear weapon. But the second one of the big dicked NATO members rolls over that border he's going to start pulling back.

There'll be repercussions for it, as Funk says that's an expensive piece of kit they fucked with in international waters and it gives the Yanks an excuse to retaliate

I'd imagine it'll be something along the lines of 'the Russians are acting unprofessionally and unsafely in international airspace, therefore we are increasing manned patrols and drone sorties to ensure the safety of our allies'. Then they'll shoot down a few Russian jets, which they'll say nothing about, and Putin won't be able to admit to, because it'll make him look weak.
