Ryse locked at 30fps, no screen tearing.

This is good. Tearing is really annoying if it happens a lot.

I remember hating it in Enslaved.

I remember detesting it in Dragon's Dogma on 360, but I had to choose the version with the better framerate. Framerate trumps tearing, but ideally it would be nice to have both.

Do you have an Xbox One with a latest build of Ryse?

So you are saying it's the fault of the video player?

Only during the shield formation. Keep ignoring that.

So there is screen tearing. OK then.

No it doesn't. What you're mistaking for screen tearing is the effect that's used when a sword is swung. I mistook it for tearing as well.

Considering there's no sword involved in that scene I will say no.

lol what bullshit. Even the trailer they just released has screentearings during the gameplay portion.

If you mean what i think you mean then its his sword slashing through the air creating a slight cut in the air if you know what i mean, its hard to explain what i mean but you can see if only happen when he swings his sword.

Ryse is certainly a good looking game but will wait on hands-on opinions before I decide on my interest level. Gameplay looks troubling

Have you seen the latest trailer? I thought everything looked much improved.
I still can't believe this shot is in-game.

Making excuses.

1. It's the video player
2. It's an old built.

Give it a rest Spence.

Link to gameplay of final build please. Whether I believe him or not, not I or either of you two have seen the final build.

I suppose the final AI in Killzone will do the below throughout the game? Set in stone right?

Cropped that gif to just crazy head guy.

I don't know why you quoted me. Those excuses are still ridiculous.

On screens at least. They need to get some new animators.

I never understand how cgi became a word for like movies only (?), video games are Computer-generated imagery too, even the shitty looking ones... not to mention there's lots of shitty made animated movies.
Ok then, at times the facial animations and character models look like movie grade cgi and are unrivaled by any other next gen game shown by a wide margin so far.

From the latest trailer.

Executive at the company who is publishing the game vs random internet person who is clearly butthurt over something...

Im inclined to think Phil isn't going to lie about it when he's seen the latest up to date build (might even have gone gold at this point) and you have only seen a trailer that was produced probably weeks ago.

So there is screen tearing. OK then.
So no tearing in the other gameplay areas right? which is like 98% of the gameplay showed.
Have you noticied the tearing without pausing the video?
Its impossible to imagine that he didn't noticed the tearing in that 1sec moment?
Its impossible to imagine they enabled v-sync in that part now?

wheres the bullshit, if not from you?

I don't care about screen tearing, I'm the only one? I mean, everytime I see someone talking about screen tearing is like the end of the world, like the worst thing ever.

Well I also posted about what a shitty product Killzone 4 looks like it will end up being, also think the "KZ3 looks better" posts are a bit silly, both games looks technically impressive but amazingly boring to me. I hate video games I guess.
get an ipad, it's where are the real games™ are now.

Jury's still out on that. The fact that all the cutscene footage is so perfectly frame locked in the trailer suggest that it could all be Uncharted-style pre-recorded video.

I really hope that's not the case for any (or most...) next gen games for two simple reasons:
- Download size. I plan on downloading most next gen games, but I'm bandwidth capped. Uncharted 3 uses *30GB* for video cutscenes alone. Those are 720p cutscenes too.
- Visual quality always suffers due to compression, unless they really go high with bitrate, in which case first problem becomes even worse.

Last gen this practice was also bad because it will probably mean that if any remasters are made, cutscenes will look low res compared to updated 1080p gameplay :\

I don't care about screen tearing, I'm the only one? I mean, everytime I see someone talking about screen tearing is like the end of the world, like the worst thing ever.
I don't care much about it either, frankly. I have hard time noticing it even, and I keep vsync disabled on PC games almost always. It results in higher framerate and produces a problem that I don't mind. A lot of people seem highly sensitive to it though.

I often don't even notice a lot of these things people moan about. When i think of screen tearing i think of Serious Sam on the first Xbox, now THAT has some screen tearing and i can only imagine what some people on here would be saying if next gen games had that level of tearing!.

So no screentearings except when there is some. Got ya.

There're other videos of the game showed plenty of screen tearings, to blame it on the video players is pure BS.

They just comfirmed there is no screen tearing, but people still posting old builds to prove that the developers are wrong?.. some people... smh. Or are you guys mad for the PS2 era rain in Killzone? Is it so hard to respect both consoles??

1. it wasn't 2 min of gameplay
2. I very much doubt that's the most difficult scene to render in the game
Yeah and it was also an unfinished build of the game. the fact that people can only find one instance of screen tearing in a trailer for an unfinished game that includes plenty of gameplay speaks volumes.

and what makes it sad? It looks amazing.

1: That shot looks good.
2: I don't see what's implausible about it. We can clearly see polys on the armour. Textures on the armour are high res, but not the highest resolution we've seen.

perhaps it's just because I played Crysis 3 on a high end PC. Crytek have been *excelling* at facial modelling and skin rendering since Crysis 1. It's perfectly plausible for the Xbox One to be handling at 900p at 30 fps.

I would say Infamous has equivalent facial modelling and rendering. It's not coming at launch, but it's been shown off enough times. I think it's even more impressive to see it in an open world game like Infamous, but environments are likely to be large in scale in Ryse too, even if it's a more linear, level based experience. Because Crytek.

Phil Spencer saying anything certainly is no confirmation. I'm really puzzled how after all the shit MS reps spilled people still take anything without questioning it.
Edit: not saying it is not true this time but I don't take tweets from MS dudes as facts.

He didn't have to reply to the tweet but he chose too, I don't see whats so unbelievable about no tearing.

Sparks? Nope.
Npcs? I havent seen any scene from KZ:SF with 40-50 npcs, so nope
Particles effects? Beach scene has tons of particle effects, so also nope
AI? Could be.

What about post processing effects? Shadow Rendering? Water rendering? Vegetation Rendering? Cloth physics? LoD transitions? Lighting?
sparks are bette in Shadow Fall at least in the npc.
The feb demo had 60 npcs according to GG
Post processing is probably better in Ryse
Killzone also cloth physics on certain characters
LoD looks solid in kz
So does the vegetation
