Shane McMahon returns to the WWE

Y'all assuming that Shane is actually back and this isn't just a short run for WrestleMania because everybody else is apparently injured and/or dead?

No amount of injuries would deplete the talent pool so much that they'd have to bring Shane back from such a long layoff. I suppose they could be just trying to hit the nostalgia angle so hard to hit viewership/attendence numbers.

Those who are suggesting a surrogate for his taker match... have you seen Taker lately? He's the one who needs one. He should have retired five years ago. Dude looks like he's ready to die after walking to the ring.

The number of fights I want to see Undertaker participate in now is between 0 and 1. Every time he fights I'm afraid he'll hold a guy just an inch or two too low during a Tombstone. His last two matches with Brock were surprisingly decent, but I just want him to do one last casket match into retirement.

Likewise, I love Shane, hell my AOL IM handle was always "Shane-o-Matt" as a kid, but I don't want to see a middle age Shane McMahon Wrestle either. I do hope they have longer term plans for Shane that aren't wrestling.

I actually like this idea.

My hope is Shane winning at wrasslemania will hopefully start a shift with a more interesting product. Course, that's probably what they want us to think.

EDIT: And I'm down for STANG shenanigans

I read once that he wanted to do something like WWE Network many years earlier but was rejected. Might have had had a better result if they had done it a lot sooner.

To get chyna to be HHH bodyguard shane had to pitch it countless times to vince and got rejected many times as well, finally it went through. Shane has had a lot of great ideas and contributions to the company I wouldnt mind him coming back and making a few more

I marked THE fuck out when "Here's Comes the Money" hit!

I don't remember a pop like that out of a crowd in years!

MONEY'S HERE!

Shane needs to beat Taker at Mania just so he can bring back the Mean Street Posse.

This is why 3H doesn't need to be the champion right now. He should be fighting Shane at Mania for something like this instead of Taker. Roman Reigns strikes again.

Regardless, good to see Shane back and great to know I wasn't the only one who missed him!

I would like to see an angle where Shane tries to break up the marriage between Triple H and Stephanie so that Triple H loses his power in the company.

After he did all that work to drug her, brainwash her, marry her twice, the whole McMahon-Helmsley era thing (with bonus RUN-DMC), make some babies with her, play with shovels & sledgehammers and build a better product under his father-in-law's nose.

Be a shame to lose all of that.

Too much like common sense and we know the WWE hates that with a vengeance.

I probably haven't watched wrestling in almost 20 years...

But god damn, does Vince still look awesome. Man clearly still cares about the company.

What makes Shane so awesome is that HE DOESN'T NEED TO DO CRAZY SHIT like Mick Foley or Jeff Hardy because he's not there making a career since he's already LOADED. Yet he still did it. The balls on that man is crazy.

I think he wanted the respect of his father, but his mistake was that its not earned in the ring, its earned outside of it. Im sure in real life, Shane couldn't deal with his father anymore, but as Vince is getting older, its probably important for him that Shane is involved somehow, even if its just a story. Its cathartic.

I have no doubts it will be Steph and HHH running the show in 5 years.

That said, I missed Shane more than I thought, and his on camera presence is much more stout than Stephanie.

The hell is happening. I don't really keep up with the WWE much anymore but never did I think I'd be seeing HHH winning the championship and the rumble and Shane vs Taker at WM in freaking 2016. What the what...
