Great, this has devolved into a Sonic the Hedgehog thread, thanks GAF.
Don't seem like it, granted they look as good as the trailer itself.
Let's get back to discussing the HD remix. What does everyone think -- are the screenshots on this page (there's lots in the various subsections) bullshots or not?

Look at this boxart:
Take note of the background: clouds forming a heart around Sora and Riku holding hands.
I know, but the screens just seem so... clean. Way too clean.
I got word from PCSX2 forums that the PS3 debug has listed the internal resolution of this game.
1440x810 @30fps + 2x MSAA / 1280 x 720 @30fps + 4x MSAA
So jaggies will exist, at least some. I hope they add some FXAA or MLAA on top of that though.

How can he know this already? The game isn't out yet...
Debug units have a function for it using an RSX syscall.
For Example:
Tekken 6 - 1024 x 576 @ 60fps + 2x MSAA (if motion blur is disabled on Settings)
Final Fantasy XIII - 1440 x 1080 @ 60fps + 2x MSAA (It uses a weird kind of MSAA, like it dithers the sampled pixels to a nearest neighbor giving a dithered look on super-sharp edges like Lightning's hair)
Resident Evil 5 - 1280 x 720 @ 60 fps + 2x MSAA (The cap may be 60fps but the game nearly never reaches over 40-ish fps on PS3)
GTA IV - 1280 x 720 @ 60 fps No MSAA (Same issue with fps as RE5 but even more noticable)
Crysis 2 - 1024 x 576 @ 60fps 2x MSAA (Same issue with fps as RE5 but on this one there is a file that the game calls that you can modify your internal resolution to pretty like anything you want (as long RSX support it) and you can ever reach higher resolutions at cost of fps or more fps at cost of resolution and texture/effect quality. The same file exists in Crysis 1 on PS3 too, does exactly the same thing.)
I dont recall the KH games ever chugging so I dont see why it will now.
Has the 'new features' section of the website (http://www.square-enix.co.jp/kingdom/khhd/khfm.html#newfeatures) been translated?
I understand that debug units of PS3 can show that kind of stuff, but doesn't he have to have a copy of the game running on that debug unit to be able to see all that info?

The man makes a valid point....I understand that debug units of PS3 can show that kind of stuff, but doesn't he have to have a copy of the game running on that debug unit to be able to see all that info?
Ah, okay, thanks. I wonder what'll be on the "coming soon" section of the site. They are the same ones here.
Because it's being ported to different hardware?
Haha
Looks like we've finally got the HD ReMix version of Dearly Beloved up.
More like Sora and Riku headed in opposite directions (as always) and the heart being the symbol for Kingdom Hearts.
Really people? The only thing that even remotely implies anything beyond friendship is the scene at The World That Never Was in KH2, and even that really doesn't imply anything unless you haven't been paying attention to the series at all;Sure it could have been written better, but I guess people just like to extrapolate.the reason Sora cried at seeing Riku and not Kairi is because Sora had no idea where Riku was. Riku was his best friend and for all he knew, Riku was dead. The entire game was spent looking for Riku, not Kairi. Sora knew Kairi was safely waiting for him at home. She was fine, there was no worry about that. Meanwhile, Riku had sold basically sold his soul the perpetual KH antagonist, nearly went heartless, then disappeared and wasn't seen again. If I was unsure of the safety of my best friend and saw him after looking for him for over a year, yeah I would cry too.
Which explains all the weird fan art.
New version of Dearly Beloved.
You should being a fan of Sherlock, the shit we put up with...
I don't get it. His post makes perfect sense to me. The whole RikuxSora is in the same vein as ZackxCloud: fans extrapolating to no end.
New version of Dearly Beloved.
Shipping is warranted when there is actually room for interesting speculation, such as FFVIII's Rinoa = Ultimecia theory. Not the case here.I know... I was completely agreeing with him. Shippers are the worst.
Haven't heard that in a while. Just got chills after clicking on the link. Such a lovely piece.
I loved KH 1. What is the .5 about?
Here's the most recent list of KH1FM changes (from:
Changes from the original version of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix:
- In addition to HD visuals, there are some changes with the character models and textures.
- English voices are reverted back to Japanese voices.
- Trophy support
- A custom theme is available once you finish the game.
- Abilities such as EXP Zero, gives you no experience gained, and Combo Master, lets you perform combos with interruption, are added.
- You use the right analog stick for camera controls. R3 reverts the camera to default position.
- Some special actions like "Talk" are utilized with triangle.
- Magic and Summon are each given a separate command.
There's also more stuff like a slightly revised script, but I'd have to look for older interviews to find that information.
New version of Dearly Beloved.
I don't think that is as necessary when it comes to KH1, granted how useless the great majority of spells is in said episode.Having given it some thought, I kinda wish that they'd instead gone with a dedicated attack button (which is what BBS/DDD have) so you could attack enemies while also navigating the combat menu, but the dedicated special-move/interact button should be a great improvement anyway.
True. The current streamlining of the controls will already work wonders.I don't think that is as necessary when it comes to KH1, granted how useless the great majority of spells is in said episode.

So is this getting an actual release or just a Type-0 kind of localization?
KH1 has the shortcut button, so you can have 3 spells accessible at all times. I wish they used the jump button for a 4th command like KH2, then it would have been enough for all the important magic...Having given it some thought, I kinda wish that they'd instead gone with a dedicated attack button (which is what BBS/DDD have) so you could attack enemies while also navigating the combat menu, but the dedicated special-move/interact button should be a great improvement anyway.
You didn't use magic much in the game, eh? Spells in KH1 are OP as hell.I don't think that is as necessary when it comes to KH1, granted how useless the great majority of spells is in said episode.
