So many awesome-looking female characters.

Makes me want to play as one :( I actually did play as one but restarted as male because the jarring discrepancy between her background as a law graduate and her immediate ability to blow people's heads off messes up my Roleplay consistency OCD :( At least the male is a military veteran so it's not too far-fetched for him to do that.

How I wished Bethesda didn't shove the "loving family background" in this game and let me create my own canon for my characters :(

Or maybe you guys can suggest a "story" for her to explain that discrepancy so that it wouldn't bother me playing as her?
Not that hard. Some military members teach their SO how to handle guns and self-defence, which happened in this case.

Well honestly, if you don't go exploring around the house, there's not blatant identification of who has the military background. And in actuality, I just played it as if they both are military veterans, she just happened to go on to get a law degree.

Knowing there's a plastic surgeon out there is fantastic. I was trying to make my character as close to my own face as possible, but after about an hour just wanted to play the game!
I came in this thread to ask about character creation, and just saw this (I'm avoiding ALL F4 threads completely).

I wanted to know if we could adjust characters in the future, and if so, what the extent was? Is it like the full character creation or is it just simple changes like eye color/hair style, etc..?

Here is my character, looks classy in the red dress. I have a male too, but I'll be editing him later in the game, needs more work, I like making female characters more.

Yes you can and it's pretty much the character creator all over again, though I don't think you can swap genders.

Nope, never heard of it. Why?
Looks like how I imagine one of the characters from that looks like. He's called Raven and... well, this sums it up nicely, I think:

Until a man is twenty-five, he still thinks, every so often, that under the right circumstances he could be the baddest motherfucker in the world... Hiro used to feel this way, too, but then he ran into Raven. In a way, this was liberating. He no longer has to worry about being the baddest motherfucker in the world. The position is taken.
Here's an artist's rendering:

This is a roundabout way of saying your dude looks cool. :)

I originally made my character look like myself, but wasn't really feeling it so I decided to change:

I feel like he's kind of a mix of Mad Max meets Commander Shepard.

And as a bonus, here's the Rear Admiral:

I basically just went with the default female. I tried making a custom face but it ended up looking terrible and I just want to start playing. Only thing was I changed her hair colour. All I'm doing is changing her hair style now and then. I think I'm gonna go to the surgeon guy and maybe add cosmetic things like make up/scars.

I called her Chloe. Usually when created a character name I think of games/books/TV shows. It was either Clara (Doctor Who), Cara (not after anyone), Chloe (Life Is Strange), or Ciri (Witcher). I knew Ciri wouldn't be voiced and wasn't sure of Clara/Cara so went with Chloe.

I can't remember where I picked up her outfit but it was right near the start and I just like how it looks. I have a sequin dress and plain tshirt/jeans to change her into. I didn't think of screenshotting her in the gear I give her when outside DC but the mask reminds me of something from star wars and it's a long leather jacket covered in iron/spikes. It'll do for now.

Is there even a reason to customize the non player spouse?

And speaking of - is there a consensus on who is the better VA? Male or female?
So far I don't see any reason. You only see the husband/wife up until
they are murdered.
Maybe they appear later on in the game, I don't know.

I'm quite impressed with the female VA. I'd assume the male is of similar quality.

I wasn't trying to make me... but I ended up making middle aged me... Anybody else do that?

It's always hard to make faces that look good from a distance though.

My wife was impressed anyway and she's a harsh critic.

Obligatory "Here's my character"

I think I'm gonna press confirm
I actually like them both a lot. Seriously that old man looks really jolly and just like a really warm personality. Good thing you re going with the chick because he is probably not wasteland material.
