I just watched this on my Wii U

I did not expect this movie to have so much fan service. I guess it has been 50 years

I remember sneaking late nights to watch movies like Octopussy on HBO
I guess when I was a kid bond had a lot of sex in the movies he slept with every women

I'll have to watch this again to catch what I missed but things like
the old car having an eject button and moneypenny

I seriously need a timeline for these stories this movie felt like a very early in the bond timeline yet they talked so much about him being too old

The black bars on the top and bottom? All BluRays are encoded at 16:9, 1920x1080 regardless of the film's own aspect ratio. So Sky fall, along with a majority of films, with its 2.4:1 aspect ratio, will inevitably have black bars on the top and bottom. This will be perfectly fine watching on a 16:9 television.
I realise that, but on the left and right there is a black line.

It could just be the way the images have been ripped, but I don't know.

Ah sorry for misunderstanding. Yeah, you're right. I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't a ripping error. I've seen a couple of Blu-Rays with a single green line down a side which has always been strange. It's certainly bizarre but I wouldn't be too distracted if it were like this on disc.

After watching it again, the movie is pretty mediocre but beautifully shot at parts, the eye candy is insane.

yup just finish my second and final time watching... the last part is really dumb and pointless
other than killing M off,
but still one of the best shot bond films ever.

Petty much my thoughts. I didn't like a lot of what they did, like doing the Bond is so old shit in the third movie of a reboot where the first two were basically one movie. The villain was cartoonish like he belonged in Nolan's Batman. But it was beautiful and the theme song was a nice throwback.

Or...in a Bond movie.

yes some of his lines are stolen from TDK. his hair is slicked back like the joker. I wish people would give Nolan credit for his innovation in script writing and men's fashion.

Bond uses guns and gets the job done Chinner.

And he doesn't get beaten up by thugs with pipes in their mouths.

It appears that the steelbook is available again for preorder on Amazon UK. It's region-free too for those in the US wanting to get one.

Edit: I just noticed that it says it's not available in a box slightly below the price, but I tried adding it to my basket and it worked.

I'll agree with this.

The pre-maturity with which this version of Bond started to talk in terms of endings/conclusions gave me the same vibe as X-men: The Last Stand. It was way too soon to start wrapping things up.

I was not nearly prepared to start thinking of this Bond as over-the-hill... regardless of how old Craig is.

My favorite part of this movie was the fight scene with the Iguana. Such old school Bond that I did not expect to see in the movie.

Gah, that's a way better cover, but it's sold out. Signed up for an e-mail alert when it comes back. It translates to $15.98 before tax & shipping, which hasn;t been bad on uk amazon orders in the past for me. I'll wait.

I usually wait for a price drop on Blu-rays, but man... I don't think I can wait. Gotta see that cinematography in glorious HD.

Also, the more people buy the movie on Blu-ray, the more chances we have of seeing another James Bond movie in the future.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Fucking BOUGHT!

I've got one movie left until I've seen all twenty-three Bond films. Then I'm going to rewatch Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace because it has been a while since I've seen both. Even longer for QoS because I last saw that in theaters in 2008.

Also, the Live and Let Die novel is much, much better than the film. Those two hours really dragged, but I thought the novel was a pretty good thriller. That theme song is top-notch, though.
