Skyrim: New(er) Screenshots and Previews

Would love some opinions;

My friend told me all these awesome adventures he had. Late hours, endless dungeons and quests, sleeping and waking up to a bite from a vampire. I had to ask,

"What is this game?!"

"Oblivion. You haven't played it before? It came out like 4+ years ago!"

So I picked up it. I have mixed feelings with it. The combat was OK at best, but the "World" just felt dead. The stale and lifeless like people of the World, were dry as cardboard.

I did enjoy the exploring...

Anyways, this is getting way to long. My question is, should I pick up the GOTY edition of Oblivion, and give it another shot? I will for sure be getting Skyrim, no questions. I just wonder if I should stave off my cravings, with trying to enjoy Oblivion once more.

no don't bother with Oblivion. I couldn't get into it either...and i tried a few times. its more fun with mods on pc but even that can't cover up the basic flaws. i loved fallout 3 from bethesda though and i'm also excited for Skyrim and will definitely pick it up.

Oh yeah he was the one trying to derail and not the fuckin dark souls fanboys. I can't go one thread without seeing that stupid game being mentioned and it's all because of what Gametrailers and IGN started. The two games aren't even the same type of game.
 
we need more video footage of the game but doubt we will get any.

Anyone know if Bugs are ususally something that NDAs disallow journalists to talk about. I noticed in one of the new previews it was said that Beth made them sign more NDAs, and i've noticed none the previewers are discussing any bugs at all, and I can't believe that none of these guys have hit any.
 
So glad I'll be getting the PC version. The art direction looks great but its going to need some good high-rez texture mods.

Agreed. Fucking tired of hearing about that game, and the person who mentioned it was the one who should be chastised.

Hold on your hype a little more if you want/can. Either you try again Oblivion or not I'm sure you'll not regret the wait until Skyrim is released.

It's all going to be worth it.

This, this is hysterical. I loved having a Mario Kart competitor on PC. I think the shareware version came on my Rise of the Triad CD.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.
 
I'll have to wait and see how it looks on my screen but the graphics seem a bit underwhelming now after playing Witcher 2. I'm still looking forward to it though. I've got mine preordered on steam.

Texture wise that's what it'll look on PC as well :P. Personally I think it looks great. A definite step above Oblivion, the armour design is fantastic.

Love it. I'm inspired to rewatch LOTR before 11-11-11.

Can't wait for this, my most anticipated game this gen.
 
Well pc version for me, I can't wait to see what the mod community comes up with...and I really hope it isn't a bunch of anime styled characters.
 
I can't fucking wait to explore those cities. I don't care about snow capped mountains or dark dungeons, I want to run around the cities and klepto everything.
 
So, I'm heading to the mall in a couple hours.

They have the Oblivion GOTY Edition in stock. I have no idea why, but my body feels like I'm going to go buy Skyrim.

My most anticipated game continues to amaze me with these new screenshots. Got Gears of War 3, Forza 4, Arkham City tomorrow, Space Channel 5 Part 2, Guardian Heroes to keep me occupied until 11.11.11.
 
WOW! I can't wait to play this! I just have to decide on the final specs for my new PC and get it built. I am tempted to just get the 360 version but Elder Scroll games are way too long for replays and I get so jealous of the mods and tweaks that the PC modes get. So I guess I'll wait.

This. That's basically all there is to Oblivion modding nowadays (except for some, few, brightly shining stars), but hopefully all the masterminds behind the great mods for Oblivion will bring something to Skyrim as well, which would result in a decent amount of great mods. :d

It's just so sad seeing all that potentially great armors being tiny skin patches for girls.

Very nice looking game. Looks like the time Bethesda spent crafting unique-looking locations was well worth it.

What's with the energy bow? Do they really have those in game?
Are they magic driven or what?

It totally looks like a blue version of Hank's bow from the animated Dungeon and Dragons series.

No it is photoshopped :)

Seriously... a summoned bow. Those have been in the games for quite a while. They just made them much cooler looking now :)
 
Amazing how much bullshit can be spouted, even on GAF. It's okay to demand some graphical standards, but boy, are some of you overreacting... The game looks very pretty. And for those longing for the "H1-R3z t3xTUR3$"-mod, the games who benefited from those mods can be counted on one hand.

You see, since they aren't really "Energy Bows", as I figured they should be, they are not in the game afterall. They're just summoned bows (or magic bows, if you so desire).

Not energy based bows at all.

Still, not bad. I might use them now!
