Skyrim: New(er) Screenshots and Previews

Unless you wanna go Amazon CE i say Steam would be the best way since a pre-load has pretty much been confirmed.
 
Do all PC versions (digital and retail) use steamworks? I remember at first modding the PC version of Oblivion was a little difficult, and I'm afraid if I get Skyrim on PC, that'll be a problem at first too.

It isn't going to be a problem. And yes the game is steamworks meaning regardless of where you get it, it's going to use steam.
 
Now that I'm seeing more dungeons, it's hilarious how shitty Oblivion's are in comparison. I figured they'd be improved given how much time has passed, but this is crazy.

Yup steamworks in 99% of cases means every single copy, retail and digital, uses Steam.

The attack animations look better, but the player movement is still very robotic. Oh well, maybe next time!

Also, that's probably the lowest quality youtube video I've ever seen.
 
Who else is gonna start as a Red Guard ?
Further more are there any actual advantages of using a Red Guard besides Adrenaline Rush ? Can the dragons even be fought if you're only a melee guy (cause they're all flying around and shit)

I imagine you can get in hits when they swoop down to murder you.

Yeah the Dragons do come down to do most of their attacks, breathing fire from the air is just one of them. Also you can break their wings so they cant fly away.

The graphics are fine and pretty impressive in third person as far as I'm concerned. The video quality and compression are fucking abysmal.
 
So, I beat the two games I really wanted to beat before this game out (DX: HR and Dark Souls), and I have a week to try and blaze through something else now. Maybe Vampire: The Masquerade...

Hard to tell just by watching. The way the you move the lockpick seems slightly different, but it's fairly similar overall.

Edit: Holy FUCK. Well, I'm satiated. Just saw something that blew my mind. Time to turn off my computer until next Friday.

Glad I'm not watching any unofficial media now. One of the best things in playing Fallout 3 for the first time was learning how the world worked, what people could do and what could happen to you.

Everything looks so darn pretty in this game except for combat animations. Why not have a system where when inflicting a certain amount of damage to the enemies relative to their health they do not react on being hit, a larger amount and they react. Plus death animations of course. And if you inflict a larg enough amount of damage they could use the system that seems to be in place now where it just "shuts off" the enemy when they die.
 
I saw 720p video in great quality earlier, it was taken down but it was some guy just playing the game like normal. I have to say, holy shit the textures are abysmal. Worst I've seen this gen probably, definitely worst I've seen in a game of this caliber. Some PS2 level shit there. The combat looked exactly like Oblivion's, but that was pretty much what I expected.

First I've heard of PS2 quality textures. Know of any videos still online that show them? The high bit-rate 720p videos on Gamersyde certainly don't show PS2 quality textures.

Quite an immense gameplay (not plot specific) spoiler I just witnessed. I had no idea this was to be in the game:

You can become a werewolf. Gameplay I saw had a guy running through a dungeon clawing bitches. Reminded me of, if anything, Worgen from WoW. The gait and stature I mean. Apparently you can only do it once a day, but you can extend that time by 'feeding'.

You should always be able to pre-order a copy of the standard edition of any game at Gamestop any time before the game is released, even at the midnight release. Pre-ordered copies start dipping into the "walk in" stock at that point, and Corporate just overnights more copies to the stores to replenish stock the next day just in case.

I've never seen a standard edition limited on the number of available pre-orders.

YES! Was talking with a friend the other day about how I wanted this and he told me it wasn't in. So glad to hear it is.
 
Bethesda was cool enough to lie and keep it secret. I've avoided every stream and the majority of spoilers but I'm glad I had read that one. I see it as a feature and get even more hyped.

Yeah, I saw a screenshot "confirming" this yesterday but I remember people weren't entirely sure of it's legitimacy. It was discussed very briefly pages ago, but awesome to hear that there is video confirmation from in game. Exciting :)

The Dark Brotherhood can send assassins after you now. Doesn't come as a huge shock to me because of Talon Company in Fallout 3, but still...
