I just recently finished Twilight Princess for the first time ever and I am honestly surprised that the clock on my latest save file is around 44 hours.

It'll be different for everyone. For instance I beat TP with 25 hours on the clock while others had up to 40 hours. I'm not really sure how 35 hours is short though.

Compared to Miyamoto saying it would take anywhere from 50-100 hours I'd say 35 is much more realistic.

I actually think 8.8 is a fair score for TP, but his reasoning was dumb. Like, who gives a shit if you can read a sign in a Zelda game by looking at the texture in first person vs. a simple button prompt? Seriously.

Regarding waiting for a Gerstmann review:

I saw his top ten games on the Decide-O-Tron App and his taste is amazingly different than mine.

He gave Catherine a 2/5, and I loved that game despite all it's problems. He just doesn't seem to have any interest in Japanese games.

I trust him as a games media guy, but I'd never base a purchase off his opinion alone.

What? It seems long. TP took me about the same time (with proper exploring and side quests) and even that had filler content in the main game. When I hear numbers like this for an adventure game I worry about the pacing. We'll see.

Nope, I trust his opinion more than 99% of other gaming journalists. Also before GB he worked at Gamespot when that site was at his peak so he has a shitload of experience as a games critic. Also I find his opinions on Zelda specifically are in tune with mine. Other games not so much but with Zelda I completely trust him.

I highly doubt it. I don't know why, I haven't played any of these games. But from the look of things, and based on the hype-o meter, Uncharted 3 is going to rock the gaming world once again.

NOA twittered that Miyamoto mentioned a 'second quest' for Skyward Sword during the pre-TGS event, but the official translation of the event (by NOA as well, no less) shows Miyamoto said nothing of the sort.

So I'm leaning towards nothing.

I've never beaten a console Zelda 'first run' in under 30+ hours. A zelda game in the teens would be awful imo.

Oh, yeah, I totally agree. But with the pacing issues and horrible fetch quest bits in TP it's easy to understand why someone would consider TP less than OMG UTTERLY AMAZING.

If you use the 1-10 scale properly, 8.8 (or even just 8, since .1 increments are stupid) is a great score. The problem is because people are used to the 7-10 scale an 8 is basically a 5 to them.

So stupid.
