Yeah I just posted them because people where talking about this apparent new logo. The person who said he saw a new logo never responded to the pics though, so who knows?

Other than the logo/font they have stamped on there, I don't have any issues with this 'supposed' prototype or whatever it is.

Not that I'm going to part with my 60gb PS3, but it's fair to say all the Sony consoles have exhibited decent design. So, I think it's fair to assume they will continue down that path.

We'll find out soon enough.

I don't know how credible this is, but a Sony rep at work said to us when we asked him about a Slim that they've been shrinking out existing PS3 stock all over North America (he didn't specifically confirm anything though, of course). And that a main warehouse here in Canada recently had to resort to getting their stock from the States, which isn't usually the case. Apparently all PS3 skus right now are being thinned out in terms of numbers. Is Sony shrinking out most of its old stock in advance of the Slim?

No, they actually are making space in the channel for the Pikachu special edition PS3 which was accidentally manufactured in large quantity last winter. Several of the beverages involved are now forbidden in all of China.

yeah, the slim's coming alright. sony's trying to deplete stock everywhere so they can drop the price on the fat ps3 and not take a major hit.

also, why the unpleasant reply to disappeared? >.>

Come to think of it...I didn't notice that bundle there. We had the UnCharted one and if I recall correctly, the 80gig core. I remember that much at least, cause some guy was making a big deal out of it, while I was taking photos in the store.

FUN FACT: Customers get nervous when you take photos of products. Guess they figured I was a rival competitor or something, cause they told a friend of mine to watch me. :lol Junior Member Cornerman advises against it.

I know now, and knowing is half the battle. I've got the 60GB and already knotch on Sony's post console-wise, so I haven't done as much research as others might. I saw that on the way to the warehouse, and figured I throw it out there. Is the slim font drastically different? Are we talking the spider-man font?

tsk relax people. at least he went and get the picture fairly quick and it was crystal clear as well. he just wanted to help why are people bitching? Anyway if this gets out at september at 299 the time is soon enough all we have to do is wait.

Man, I hope they unveil something soon. So many of my friends are awaiting a price cut or the slim, since the PS3 is quite large.

What's so funny?

If they are to be in stores in the fall, manufacturers will be putting them - literally - on ships now. There's no way these will be flown over... so around a 6 week lead time i believe.

I think they have similar scams with HDTVs and stereos. You can get any information you might need with a quick internet search, but I guess many are not aware of how easy many of these things are. The firmware "service" is probably the most comical, though. It's free and runs itself. Just accept and it does everything for you. I'd want to beat the crap out of those Geek Squad weasels if I found out how bad they were ripping me off afterwards. :lol

Everybody is ripping of someone clueless in most jobs. I got paid 50 to 100 euro per installation of an Os. Its easy and simple but people cant be bothered.

Do we have any news on whether there will be streaming from the conference this year?

It's just funny to think that, the whole time we (myself included) have been guessing and speculating, latching on to every single little tidbit that might point to some information, they've been making hundreds of thousands of these things -- and are not only making them, but are actually very likely, as you said, putting them on boats to make their trips around the world.

And we still aren't absolutely positive about almost anything.

Pretty damn sure, yes; but not absolutely positive.
