The dentist drills would definitely have been my pick. Actually laughed for that one!Iam Canadian said:Personally, I'd have gone with "Guided missiles...Lovely". Or "Man, I'm even afraid of dentist drills". Or "No! Stop! Get off my head!" Or...
Well, this update has a lot of thread title fodder.

Haruhi.
Actually, I had Ayu Tsukimiya in mind until I remembered that it's her behavior that I love while I don't particularly care for the way either Toei or Kyoto Animation drew her. >_> Which is the only reason I never made an avatar of her...
Jiggy, dont you remember how everybody was sure after Dojo opening, until four ways of control were confirmed, that this game will actually be controled only with Wiimote, because the icon to "How to Play" section is Wii Remote:lol ?Jiggy37 said:Oh man, that Gamecube controller post is sublime. Not just on its own, but because it's so representative of the many, many times that subject was brought up and fervently ranted about. >_>

I remember those arguments! :lol I also remember when many were saying that Zero Suit Samus inclusion in Brawl somehow meant that Sheik was not returning. :lol :lolCassSept said:Jiggy, dont you remember how everybody was sure after Dojo opening, until four ways of control were confirmed, that this game will actually be controled only with Wiimote, because the icon to "How to Play" section is Wii Remote:lol ?
Same was with WiFi Play, i dont remember if there were any ban bets over this, but until Sakurai confirmed it, many people thought he wont hide such a big feature so long = WiFi is not in Brawl:lol
where there are celebrities, whether drawn or real, there is porn. for this reason i stopped making tags for other boards.Danthrax said:She is pretty cute. Doing an image search for her is NOT safe for work, though @_@
[edit] BTW, I'm still working through my 2,500 posts. I've got some pretty good updates in there, like Pkmn Trainer and Ike =D
Man, the belief that ZSS = Sheik not returning held up until... early january? When these cards or whatever with special attacks were released and featured all special attacks from all revealed characters, except for Zelda's down B:lolCreatureX3 said:I remember those arguments! :lol I also remember when many were saying that Zero Suit Samus inclusion in Brawl somehow meant that Sheik was not returning. :lol :lol
Those were some crazy times back in the early days of this thread!

however, i must disagree with Jiggy. Haruhi is the most "moe" character design ever (based on my experience with "moe" character archetypes. i am a writer, so i have made it my prerogative to learn about this shit for later satire). cute comes more from petiteness and young look, therefore cute is based more in characters that if you liked what you saw after googling with safe search off, well, let me just call the feds here.
speaking of all this moe shit, i really wish Travis Touchdown could make an appearance in this game too, but alas, it was not meant to be :'(
I actually don't remember this. But it wouldn't surprise me if I was looking back through the old posts and saw that. I don't know, maybe I just use a different definition of "cute" from most people, but I don't think it excludes moe. >_> I mean it more like "pretty."doomed1 said:however, i must disagree with Jiggy. Im pretty sure there has been something like this. Ive been lurking on this thread since it got started and iirc there were people who actually believed that no mention of other control methods, and wii remote as icon for How to Play section meant that Wiimote will be only control method in SSBB. I wouldnt do ban bet about it, but im 99% sure that something like this happenedJiggy37 said:I actually don't remember this. I see people already talking about SSB 4. What about SSB DS? seems very likely.
Which will come first I wonder?
Jiggy37 said:Er, uh, I mean, at least we can all agree in unison that Jill is bloody ugly.
And yeah, guys, there's no rush about looking through the posts. I'm just eager to start crossing stuff off and such when the time finally comes.
Anyway, back to Jill.
Jill: Ugly character or ugliest character? I think we all know the answer. ...Which sucks so bad, since her game was totally great.
If that gives it even a remote chance... Prax said:I also agree that Haruhi's really cute. It's the hair ribbon that does it.
But cutest videogame girl on a Nintendo system? That should go to.. hmm.. I'm having a brainfreeze here and can't honestly remember many videogame girls at all (maybe because there aren't enough!).. Zelda or Peach. I don't remember calling many other videogame girls my "babies"... maybe Torchic too :> .
Wh-wh-what? That thing in your avatar...SovanJedi said:Then again, she does actually LOOK like a girl *Refrains from commenting on the character in his avatar*
Yes, it's the best and most appropriate facial expression and stance for her ever, and when my Photobucket bandwidth returns so will she.Iam Canadian said:I have absolutely no idea who Haruhi is, but I did like that avatar that Jiggy used to have. A forum member by the name of Ezz has posted excerpts from the review over on the Nintendo NSider2 Forums:
"I'm ecstatic to report... that Brawl isn't just amazing, and it isn't just one of the best titles on Wii, but it's one of the very best games that Nintendo has ever produced."
The single biggest new addition to Brawl is The Subspace Emissary, a vastly expanded adventure mode that by itself is well worth the price of admission. Just imagine if you'd never heard of the Smash series, but someone told you that nintendo made a side-scrolling action/adventure game starring all of its top characters-you'd flip out, right? And to think, Brawl throws it in as a bonus! I can't stress enough that this mode isn't some fluffed-out afterthought- it's packed with loads of enemies and stage types, offers incredible boss battles, supports two-player co-op, and has lots of classic Nintendo references for long-time fans to geek out over. The cinema scenes are gorgeous and contain a long list of cool and funny moments, and I'm pretty sure that Brawl has more cinemas than all other Nintendo games ever made combined. The Subspace Emissary takes longer than many top stand-alone action games to finish, and even more play value can be found in clearing each stage on harder difficulties."
It's a testmament to the talent of the developers that I even enjoy playing as Diddy Kong- I've always hated that guy."
The game's control feels smoother than Melee's; you're less likely to accidentally jerk a quick character off a ledge. And, being the type of Melee player that never totally clicked with pressing up on the analog stick to jump, the game plays much better for me now that Brawl has the option to make jumps button-only"
Maybe, if I set my mind to it, I could scrounge up some negative things to say about the game, some details that could've used a tiny bit more polish. But against the grand scope of how much Brawl does amazingly well, any other possible concerns would be trivial at best. To deny this game a 10 purely for the sake of shying away from the top of our review scale would be a shameful disservice to one of the greatest gaming achievements in years. Rarely has any title delivered so much amazing action, such a wide variety of modes, and so many hours of value. It doesn't get any better than this"
