I also don't understand how this seems to be a US only issue (or mostly a US issue). Meanwhile, I'm reading online about people in Australia being able to literally just walk into a store and purchase one with no preorder, no tickets, no waiting in line hours before the store opens, etc.
Ok, I called my local DHL and I can go pick it up after work at their office. Gonna probably be annoying since they said the package is still on the van so I'll need to get there between 6-7PM. They close at 7PM so I'll probably just get there a bit early and wait.
Can't wait to stop worrying about this shit once I get it.
Hi, I'm contacting you again about order # 113-6535603-8313855 - this was a difficult issue and required that I be escalated to a different tier of customer service, so please save us some time by doing that right away.
You are now connected to Ashish from Amazon.com
Hello, my name is Ashish. I'm here to help you today.
That's such a nice name!
Thank you Ashish. I have an order waiting for a "release date" for an item that has already been released. Amazon hasn't changed the wording on the order since it launched, despite acknowledging that there was a problem with the supplier and that inventory
I'm sorry to hear about this. I request you to please don't worry. I'll get this sorted out right away.
I'd like to find out a) Why it has been delayed and b) Why no information has been given to customers about this problem
Ashish: The order is not getting processed as the item is currently unavailable.
In this case the fastest resolution is to cancel this order an place the new order with a new seller .
the seller is Amazon...
Yes, I understand that, but there is a specific issue with the orders for that item that isn't simply a lack of stock. last time I contacted you I was escalated to a higher tier of customer service who seemed to know more about the specific problem. please do that again (escalate)
I am not going to cancel the order, as a previous CS agent told me that despite the bad wording in the status message, that they would ship my unit on the 11th of october
Sure. let me check for escalation.
thank you Ashish.
Ashish: Frank even I can help you in this issue because the supervisor will also help you with the same resources.
However if you wish I can surely do that for you .
I would still prefer to speak to the supervisor
Thank you for your patience and help, Ashish.
A Customer Service Associate will be with you in a moment.

Hello, my name is Mrinank, from the leadership team
Hi, I am trying to get some clear information about the REASON for a delayed order, and further, the VERY strange messaging and response about the item
As this item has proven to be a very popular item. We have many customer orders for this item, and we've just begun to receive copies from our suppliers. We're filling orders as quickly as we can on a first-come, first-served basis.
The order # is 113-6535603-8313855 - I preordered the item very soon after it became available. Through Amazon (as the seller) - the order and the tracking information havne't changed since I ordered it, and it ususes very unconventional ording and tracking information. I'm trying to geta straightforward answer as to why this is, and secondly, when I can expect the order to ship. I have yet to receive a satisfactory or logical answer.
Well you guys managed to sell them on the treasure truck, long after pre-orders were made. So the pre-orders were not prioritized. You can imagine how frustrating that is for consumers, but AMazon has still not explained why
And I have only ever had this precise issue with Amazon once before - for a very similar item from the same manufacturer, last year. Both times I ended up in this limbo and never received any communication from Amazon about it
And from reading about it online, it seems amazon has not filled ANY orders except for those made through treasure truck. so it seems you're incorrect in saying, "We're filling orders as quickly as we can on a first-come, first-served basis. " - especially since the treasure truck items arrived a month after the pre-orders were made available.
I completely understand your concern
Last time I chatted with customer service I was assured that my item would ship on Oct 11th, if that's no longer the case I would appreciate an update.
I see that Guaranteed delivery by: Wednesday, October 11, 2017 .
Thank you. It seems unusual then, that this isn't reflected or stated on my order/tracking information.
So I request you to please wait for the estimated delivery date .
I apologies for the delay .
I will surely escalate this issue to our concerned team .
So that this can be fixed soon and you can get the item on EDD.
Thank you - please take careful note however, that to date, many thousands of Amazon US customers are complaining about their own identical situations online and are frustrated more by the lack of communication than the lateness of the item.
Please do not worry and we will make sure that this shouldn't repeat.
Thank you. I will check again on the 11th and thanks for your time. Goodbye.
And that's where the frustration comes from. We haven't gone an actual answer over this past week and a half and instead have been getting nothing but vague throwaways that don't match up with other Amazon reps' answers.
I paid for my order with a gift card. This is my only chance of getting one. I'm upset. But I'm giving them one last chance. Once October 11 hits, all bets are off.
My second-wave Walmart preorder (10/2) arrived on the 3rd after the notice saying it shipped would arrive on the 4th. I got the email that it was delivered while I was an hour away in the city, and it was raining... But, the little package was nice and safe!
Good luck to those of you still on the waiting rollercoaster.
That's weird, I just received my Amazon Japan shipment and they just left it on my doorstep (they rang the doorbell first, at least). No signature or anything required, despite the tracking saying that it did.
I may or may not have mentioned here about my nightmare with Very in trying get this console, which ultimately left me looking at ebay to try and get one, eventually I did win an auction, but even then the price I had to pay ended up being a LOT more than I thought I would have to pay....so the seller decides to send the item via one of the WORST couriers around, who initially told me I would get the item this week Wednesday....
Wednesday came and went...no show...they then said Thursday....
Thursday came and went....no show..
Then I was told today WAS THE DAY...and it actually did arrive only to find that the packaging of the item had been tampered with, and someone or somehow the package has been opened from one side.....
I was not at home to receive the package, but from what i was told it didn't look in good shape, it is unclear if there was any damage to the main box of the console or not....
So now the item is headed back to the seller because in the state I received it in, there is no telling what happend with it over the 3 day period I did not receive the item...
So something I brought, AND paid the fee for postage and packaging only to find now that its going to take near enough the best part of 2 WEEKS to resolve this issue....whether or not it results in me keeping the mini or getting my money back I do not know....
Surprisingly I found that my local game store still has some SNES Mini's in stock....but I am not about to purchase that yet until this crap is resolved.....ALL of this you would not have got with the ORIGINAL SNES RELEASE IN 1991!!!! Back then it would have been much simpler..
From what I've heard, pretty much everyone who preordered from Amazon got screwed because instead of sending preorders out, Amazon seemingly decided to use their stock of SNES classics to push their own services like treasure trucks and "instant pickup".
So... another Amazon CS Chat transcript... hoping they'll honor that discount... xD...
Here's a copy of the chat transcript you requested:
Initial Question: I need a clarification about a preorder.
05:45 PM PDT Mohammed(Amazon): Hello, my name is Mohammed. I'm here to help you today.
05:46 PM PDT Diego Dueñas: Hi Mohammed. I need an honest answer about a preorder.
Order # XXX-XXXXXXXXX
05:46 PM PDT Mohammed: Sure, Diego.
05:46 PM PDT Me: I need a cristal clear date about when will Amazon deliver this preorder since Amazon screw up with the Treasure Truck Fiasco
05:47 PM PDT Me: It has been passed 1 week since launch and I have 0 information about when you are gonna deliver the product.
05:49 PM PDT Mohammed: Upon checking I see that the item will be back in our website soon. We'll sent you the items with higher priority.
Your item will be delivered at the earliest.
05:49 PM PDT Me: Yeah, but when... we need a date.
05:49 PM PDT Mohammed: I'll also forward your concern to our specialist department and ensure you that you'll not face such situations in your future orders.
05:49 PM PDT Me: We preorder the item on August...
05:50 PM PDT Mohammed: I understand your concern.
Once we shipped the item we'll sent you the confirmation email.
05:50 PM PDT Me: Because you can paste the same answer over and over again and pass another 3 - 4 months without a solution.
05:51 PM PDT Me: And, since Amazon sell the product via Amazon Treasure Trucks, Amazon Instant and Amazon Fresh, we as consumer are insulted with your poor treatment.
05:52 PM PDT Mohammed: I understand your concern. I'll also forward your feedback and assure you that necessary actions will be taken.
05:53 PM PDT Me: But I need dates. Clear and precise dates, not a vague response...
Or at least we need a compensation for this poor treatment.
05:54 PM PDT Mohammed: To make up for the inconvenience, I can provide you 20% discount for your item, once it is shipped.
Is this okay for you?
05:55 PM PDT Me: Can you offer a little bit more?...
or it's only 20% no more? 05:56 PM PDT Mohammed: Actually we are able to process 30% discount but considering your situation as a friend I am offering 50% discount.
Is this okay?
05:56 PM PDT Me: 50%?... seems ok...
05:56 PM PDT Mohammed: Thank you, Diego.
05:57 PM PDT Me: So, when you ship the product I will be reflect that discount?
or how can i be sure that discount is applied on that specifically order?
05:57 PM PDT Mohammed: The item will be shipped within 1 to 2 business days.
We'll sent you the confirmation email.
05:58 PM PDT Me: And if I dont receive that discount, can i contact you again?
05:59 PM PDT Mohammed: You no need to worry, I'll create a personal follow up for your order and I'll issue the discount.
06:00 PM PDT Me: Ok, I'll trust you. Now the waiting game begins. Really i need this item so much. It's a very nostalgic item for me, and i need it so much... xD
Hoping that this item will ship soon.
06:00 PM PDT Mohammed: Sure, Diego.
06:01 PM PDT Mohammed: You'll receive the confirmation email once it is shipped. We'll ship your order with higher priority.
Is this helpful to you?
06:01 PM PDT Me: Yep, that's enough for today...
06:02 PM PDT Mohammed: Thank you.
Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
06:02 PM PDT Me: Nope...
06:02 PM PDT Mohammed: Thank you for contacting Amazon. Please click on the "End Chat" to close this window.
06:03 PM PDT Mohammed: Please click on the "End Chat" to close this window.
