I've never played any FF prior to X. Sorry my opinion is invalid.
That said, perhaps people could choose a "3rd" entry from this gen (like Uncharted or GoW).
And of course:
I could belong to TLoU/Journey/BTS/LBP/HS/Uncharted 1 (quite the seminal game)
II could belong to inFamous
IV undoubtedly should belong to MGS.
V could belong to GT5

Same absolute time, but different relative times depending on which country you are in. And since in the thread everyone talks about Monday, for people in some countries it is already 6 days left for that day.
It's not too logical but it makes some sense if you think about it that way.

Miyazaki isn't directing Dark Souls 2, so who knows what would have the better chance of being great?
I'd have high hopes for either one, myself.
