Southland on NBC - Strong Pilot Episode Tonight

This show hasn't lost a beat. Feels just like the previous season. Strong cases, realistic (to me) behavior, intense shooting scenes. Best cop show around.

Finally got to watch it. Great episode. Loved the shootout scene. That was pretty intense. I liked the gang stuff and the detective stuff was interesting too. Glad this is back on.

Damn it, I completely forgot about this series after the whole network switch fiasco. No idea where I left off, but I really enjoyed it before so I need to catch up. Good to hear that they haven't fallen off the wagon.

Great second episode. Sammy's wife is such a bitch! Nice to see some of the other characters returning. :D Dewey and Sal :D I miss the background cops, though. The little guy that played Jimmy Barrett in season 2 of Mad Men etc. I presume they won't be back, which is a shame.

Best damn cop show since The Shield ended. I hope it's around for many years to come.

I set the dvr to record this so I can watch it this morning. My stupid roommate canceled the recording. She's the most annoying bitch.
I ended up just canceling her recordings of Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Good thing the replay comes on tonight.

:lol :lol

Good second episode though I preferred the first I think.

Well played :lol

Just watched the first, TNT only puts them online after a week...

Completely agree. Feels like nothing changed.

What an awesome episode. Everything with Sherman was top notch. This show has the perfect amount of procedural and drama for a cop show.

I was surprised he screamed out bullshit at the end, and I think they even missed a *beep* when he said fuck before. They normally let that slide?

Outstanding episode this week. Perfect blend of drama and humour. Sammy and Nate lol "A suspect is running with his cock in his hand."

Had me cracking up. "Dont hurt my cock man!" You could hear them laughing as he was running haha

Can't say I noticed any fucks getting through. Which scene? In the car at the end?

They didn't really "get through" as much as that the bleeps were really short so it sounded like

"F-bleep-ck"

I haven't watched last night's yet, but I caught the second episode... I swear to God, Sammy's wife is one of the worst and most useless characters on television.

When he was beating down that big black dude. They bleeped a motherfucker than I swore he said fuck a few times after in rage. It could have been in my head though since I know what he was trying to say.

Great episode this week. Particularly the stuff with Ben, but I agree the scene with the cock fight was pretty funny. Some good stuff with the gang unit in general.

Seriously, Tammie is the worst character on television right now. She's not even on-screen in this episode and she's so awful.

And damn, Sherman has a violent streak.

I love her character actually. She is despicable and so easy to hate. The actress who plays her is wonderful.

Last episode had some amazing acting moments in it, especially the ending, damn...

:lol Yea, she somehow manages to plague the show even without being there. Although I liked those moments this episode, made for some funny moments.

Sherman is a badass. I am going to rewatch the OC now.

You are a liar.

I don't remember this..................happen to remember what episode that was revealed in?

yeah, I used to watch the show before the switch to TNT and 'tis twu. He was at a gay bar and everything.

I'm pretty sure they revealed that Sherman's partner was gay in the pilot. A gay bar scene at the end. They've made it much more obvious since then though. I think he mentions something about it in the episode with the funeral too from last season. I'm sure there are some posts in this very thread about it from the pilot though.

Edit: Yeah check out posts 18 and the bunch after it in this thread. They talk about the gay bar scene from the pilot. Seems some people missed it though. They've been more obvious about it since then though.

Love this show. And if it wasn't for this thread, I would have had no idea a third season was airing.

i dont think im far off

It's great, but it's no Wire.

Also, as sentimental and gimmicky as it was, I loved me some Boomtown back in the day (can't believe it's been almost a decade since it aired)

Well shit...I dont know why I completely forgot this. However I don't see anything more obvious with him lately. I must somehow be missing it...weird

Wow.

That was unexpected to say the least. Damn. I haven't been that caught off guard by a TV show in a long time. Probably since I saw The Shield, or The Wire.

You're pretty brave coming in here without having seen the episode yet. I could've actually went into detail about what I was talking about lol.

But yeah, in a good way I guess.

Haha I didn't expect any kind of huge thing to happen. Plus I trust people to spoiler tag any big spoilers for a few hours for us west coast losers :)

Nice episode as always, Giz is a hilarious villain. Ending is enraging though, wonder if it'll lead to Sammy offing himself after what happened and the ongoing thing with his wife.
Wish it was Sammy and/or his wife that got the budget cut kill off rather than the guy from True Blood, liked his character
