The only reasons would be to
1) run games that are 30fps like Starfield at 60fps
2) crank up those rays traced
That's a big if. I don't think either will do a Pro console this generation. There isn't that big push like there was with the sudden and drastic spike in 4K television adoption.Interesting.....wonder how things will go if the PS5 Pro rumors are accurate.
I think he’s right. We also don’t need a PS5 Pro.
Could be the case, but Xbox staff like Greenberg and Spencer also have to know how their fan base is going to take statements like this.Sounds like "for now" PR.
If Sony comes out with a Pro and Xbox doesn't...well, there isn't enough popcorn in the world.
Their two big games this year (Redfall and Starfield) are both 30 fps and are next gen. Sounds like the consoles are underpowered to me.Smart on his part. We're barely using the current power as is. Everything is stuck in this cross-gen mode
Lol
Spencer tends to be very good at doing that. Telling people want they want to hear.
If there is a Ps5 Pro, then there is also 100% an Xbox X Pro.Things are gonna get interesting if there is a PS5 Pro...
But yeah, some of us said MS already did the mid gen refresh, it's called the Series X.
I just hope the x comes considerably later tha Ln the pro. Give me a big step up.If there is a Ps5 Pro, then there is also 100% an Xbox X Pro.
I think he simply meant there is no need for this year.Translation: "We're waiting for sony to put out PS5 PRO first so we can deliver a more powerful machine one year later".
Kidding.
What's considerably later? Looking at history the One X launched 3 years before a new generation so 2025 with next-genarriving 2028? I think that'll line up perfectly and it'll come in more powerful than the PS5 Pro with a year later launchI just hope the x comes considerably later tha Ln the pro. Give me a big step up.
Why stop at buying a PC? We should all buy people & control them as our own charactersHe is right. They need to stop overcomplicating things. If customers want to play their games with better performance then they should just buy a PC.
Like the PC market?Imagine you're a developer and your game is targeting somewhere between a 1.3TFLops GCN GPU and a 24 TFLOPs RDNA3/4 GPU.
Instant chaos at MS headquarter unless they can push something out within minimum 1 year.Interesting.....wonder how things will go if the PS5 Pro rumors are accurate.
No, one of their 2 big games this year (I'd hardly call Redfall a big game) is 4k60 with raytraced reflections.Their two big games this year (Redfall and Starfield) are both 30 fps and are next gen. Sounds like the consoles are underpowered to me.
The 1.3TFLOPs GCN1.0 equivalent on PC is the Radeon HD 7770 2GB and subsequent refreshes.Like the PC market?
sometimes the team has a focus that they're just...'hey we can only support two or three platforms' and they're kind of reducing development risk. It is real, every platform you add, adds more work to the development team.
