The slow mo during combat was a bit much but it looked great overall.
I mean Platinum Games have tons of QTEs too for set pieces.
Peter is 23?
He has a job?
High school teacher Parker, please.
Besides the unbelievable visuals, the animations here are just outstanding, Insomniac really upped their game this gen.
It's open world, this was quite obviously a story mission...so is it open world with random events that we can react to? this whole demo seemed heavily scripted, almost like a telltale game 😐.

would be dope if we get some peter parker moments at the bugle.

World class trolling.
Visually amazing but lacking in convincing gameplay. QTE use was about as bad as I expected. Button prompts during combat at the bottom right made no sense so either it was shifted for presentation or maybe this is more towards proof of concept than final gameplay and UI.
I highly recommend watching the trailer in 4K, it's ridiculous how good this game looks.

I think they will work in the same sense as BatmanVisually amazing but lacking in convincing gameplay. QTE use was about as bad as I expected. That's the problem with E3 presentations. Everything needs to be spectacular set pieces, often to an extent it almost looks scripted. It's a trend that has increased particularly this generation (see: almost any AAA gameplay presentation)
I wouldn't worry this is all the game has to offer.
It was evident to me the webs attached to buildings. Also jstevenson confirmed they attach and swinging is physics based in this thread.Swinging looks off to me? Hard to tell how physical it was based on that. I miss the good standard that was Spider-Man 2.
Telltales spider man lolso is it open world with random events that we can react to? this whole demo seemed heavily scripted, almost like a telltale game 😐.
I promise promise promise im not trolling. I'd buy this game regardless, it's just I would've loved to see some random exploration to get an idea how big the world is and how navigation is. I know this was a story mission but even then it felt heavily scripted. I loved the Arkham series so its not necessarily a negative its just within the confines of the demo it seemed overbearing.
After watching the demo again I think I can accept the QTEs, I don't like them in most other games but they do fit Spiderman completely, you can't do those big spidey's set pieces without involving QTEs here and there.
How it can even work otherwise? it's not like doing an Uncharted set piece, the scenes in Spiderman are too complex and Spidey got too many extraordinary abilities to give you total control on those so it's either giving up on Spidey's big set pieces (which is unacceptable, part of the franchise's DNA is big set pieces and spectacles, he is not Batman) or just adding QTEs in between for those epic moments.
I rather have those moments than having them removed.
Where's this info and why isn't it in OP?Peter is 23?

I knew there would be complaints about QTE on GAF.
The public at large won't care though. This game, if reviewed and marketed well, will sell gangbusters, I'm thinking at least as much as Batman Arkham did, i.e. 5MM+. I'm still surprised Sony was able to coup this exclusive from Marvel. It IS a system seller, and it also might be IG's best game yet...
Man this demo was really underwhelming to me. Spider-Man was the thing I was most excited for going in and the gameplay demo just left me cold. Those back to back to back QTE segments reslly killed it for me. Insomniac is usually very gameplay focused so this was a weird thing to see in one of their games.
