Spike VGAs Thread: [Update: FINALLY a funny joke descends upon the show post #4807]

hey, maybe Peace Walker is coming to console or something...

Journalists reported that at a PW event they were asked if they'd like to see PW on PSN with online support. We haven't heard anything about that sense though.

It says tonight, depending on your time zone it differs :p , they are in SF I think where it's already night, I dunno, looks like he made a mistake.

EDIT:

yeah, that's what I was getting at.

One or more of the games scheduled for reveal at the VGAs will be released in 2013 at the earliest:

It will interesting if next-gen consoles are released in 2012 what will happen to this/these games.

Respawn? Final Fantasy XV?

Jeez. Why reveal a game this early? Just make an awesome game and reveal it closer to the release date.

2013?! Jesus Christ what's the point of a reveal then? I thought game companies have learned it's hard to keep up the hype for games that are more than a year out.

It's probably to announce the THQ/del Toro. I doubt you'll see footage. Maybe some artwork...

I thought we already had a Homefront trailer?

Gran Turismo 6 confirmed!

2013? And I thought Devil's Third and Bioshock Infinity's "Coming 2012" was bad enough already.

This has to be fake but the Halo remake rumour still keeps popping up.
Thats the actual information status:
- Halo Nemesis is not the real Halo 4
- remake rumors are true: Nemesis is a mix between remake of halo:ce and events in johns past (flashbacks)
- the actual build was shown in germany at closed doors
- nemesis will be released on xblm in mid 11
- you will play john-117 (masterchief)
- you can switch into 3rd person mode (just like in bungies theatre mode)
- acutal demo contains three level, one of them is an unfinished version of silent cartographer
- in the acutal demo youre always wearing an old armor from johns past
- did a developer ever stated leaks as true?
VGA reveal or some with too much time on their hands :lol

Sounds pretty uninspired of a Halo XBLA game, I expect more of 343.

I believe in the Halo remake now (at least I want to), but that list of info looks like complete bogus. Is Nemesis a name that has been floating around for a while now? Because if not, it was used in that "leaked image" that was confirmed fake (not that it had to be anyways, it was obviously a fake). A VGA reveal would be sweet, but I would think Geoff would be hyping the shit out of it. I think Microsoft isn't going to reveal it until after the holidays at least. Got to keep promoting Reach and getting those sales in.

What were the ratings like for last year's VGAs?
Not good.

Big Download said:
However it looks like the improvements this year didn't translate to ratings. Variety's Cut Scene blog reports that the show had just 647,000 viewers tuned into the show last December. Including DVR ratings (people who watch the show up to seven days after the event) raised the ratings to just 691,00 viewers. That's compared to 680,000 live viewers for the 2008 awards and a whopping 921,000 live viewers in 2007.

Why watch that shitfest when all the stuff goes up online 2 minutes later? Not to mention so much of our community is European and Asian and South American and etc.

Just watched the video about the secrecy behind the Halo: Reach Trailer - http://www.spike.com/video/halo-reach/3501756

That's pretty ridiculous for a video game trailer. For god's sake, it can't just be sent to trustworthy individual over a secure network, or just personally hand delivered by one of the attending Bungie employees if you really want to make sure it's secret?

"We're sorry! This video is not available in your country."

Spike.com just got blocked in my country. I'm talking the entire website. And just in time for the VGAs... fuck

But they unblocked Kotaku today, so can't complain. Getting it back wasn't easy though. They also told me that Gametrailers and IGN are on the list of "possibly getting banned soon".

Justin.tv will save the day.

Nope. I'll give you a hint:

GAF.

I wish they would realize that GAF-type gamers are much more interested in this type of show then the dudebros.

I mean, still aim all the advertising and all that at a blue ocean audience...

but FFS do a better job at the awards part of it. The nominees and stuff are just insanely laughable in most cases. I think gamers like us would take the show much more seriously if this was done, and that would have a trickle down effect, making everyone take the show more seriously.

In a more broad point, I think a lot of companies underestimate the effect the hardcore can have on the casual. I cannot even tell you how many people come to me for recommendations and knowledge.

We're not way past 10 reveals.... Make sure to differentiate between what we've announced and what's "rumored" (a lot of which isn't true).

They're the ones making the lovecraftian horror action RPG with Del Toro.

They've actually made action RPGs before with the Summoner series as well. They weren't great, but they were quite solid for launch titles.

I've played Summoner. I was unaware they were the ones doing del Tor's game. Cool.
