Square Enix party: more confirmation about a new game

I still dont understand what people see in Final Fantasy. any of them. except maybe 7. I actually liked that game. But everyone did so it doesnt count. Why is FF such a hugely popular franchise and the plethora of other RPgs arent? What does it do differently?
Im genuinely inquisitive.

Possibly, of course!
Square wouldn't say "Nintendo fans pay attention to the Square party" unless they have SOMETHING in the works for Wii/DS/GBA, however. And somehow I doubt they'd say "hey Nintendo fans... watch the party so you can all cry like the manchildren that you are, mwuhahaha!" :lol

it was more tongue-in-cheek. would be a horrible idea to even make a sequel to the first FF game...unless they did some massive fleshing out
 
Hey, finally, new S E games. And thankfully one of those ISN'T a FF spin off. I'm interested in what it's going to be like. I just wished it was PS3 exclusive, just so it could use the White Engine. :(

It is definitely just a sales thing. I think Square recognizes it, and is trying to build new franchises by making Final Fantasy the subtitle to Dissidia. If the game is successful, perhaps they can build upon a Dissidia franchise. Blame the consumers and their franchise whoring anyways, not S-E. All FF's are different, so its nothing more than a title.
 
It's obvious Wii and DS will be getting the new star ocean. So be happy.

...that's serious. I know it sounds tongue in cheek after SO3.
 
damn im shocked.... the psp ? wow.... star ocean 4 on wii seems like a no-brainer now...
 
whoa two curveballs with last remnant and this was def expecting more games for DS and Wii. Cant wait to see more of this game.
 
It's obvious that they are saving the big announcements for Saturday and get the detritus out of the way. :lol

This week's gonna be a rollercoaster and gonna be awesome!

I actually tried KH 1 and II after all the hype and friends urging me to try. "If you liked Zelda youll love KH!". My friends are either very cruel or very lacking in taste in videogames. But then again one of them loved FFCC and is eagerly awaiting the Wii sequel. Different strokes I guess.

How could I forget about this? This was confirmed months ago, seriously N-fans should stop complaining, I mean they're getting a full fledged KH game.
 
I think I'm conditioned to wanting SE games on DS. I plan to get Dissidia (along with the other SE games coming to PSP) but inside I violated by SE. The game behind the comment about Nintendo fans needs to be revealed soon to offset the pain.

I've heard that new mainline Final Fantasy games will be played like Dragon's Lair or maybe a little closer to the minigames in God of War or the cutscenes in RE4. They'll stop being roleplaying games and start being just extended cutscenes with advancement being dictated by well-timed button presses.

maybe they thought it was lonely.
the Ds is out Partying with the Ps2 and GBA is keeping Ps3 company. Psp is sort of stuck witthout a partner. So Square threw it a nice bone.

But I have a question...didnt we already know PSP was getting a new FF game in this series?
