Square Enix party: more confirmation about a new game

Eteric Rice said:
Their fanbase will go where ever the FF games are (though I have to wonder about XIII), it really doesn't matter.

Put it on the cheaper console, more people can buy it. Simple really.

Main FF games are known for being technologically advanced in the grafx, productions and storytelling departments. Its what they're famous for.

Its not that simple. It means betraying the core values of what the series stand for, always advancing (in the terms I just explained).

Being released on the best selling console doesnt mean bigger sales. Im sure Halo wouldnt have performed as well as it did had it been a PS2 title or look at RE4 and Killer 7.
Its all about your audience.

Im not saying it cant happen, Im sure SE could WOW us all with a shocking announcement in 3 years regarding a mainline FF game.

Because the biggest selling Wii games (Wii Play, Sports) are exactly the opposite of what SE has been trying to achieve with all the mainline FF games.

Yeah, that´s a great idea.
Make RPGs for a console that already has RPGs, and make minigame-compilations for a console that already has minigame-compilations.
Great way to succeed within competition....NOT.

That's okay, you can stick to the Sony-only ones.
sure why not.. paying for FF and FF II separately when you can get a cheap ass GBA version that got both games in it (got it for like 10 dollars in the bargain bin like 2 years ago.. )

The PS2 was not the most technilogically advanced system of last generation by a long shot.

Final Fantasy was once on Nintendo systems. Hell, the top 10 charts for the DS should show you that people will buy S-E games on a Nintendo system.

In all honesty, Square-Enix would make it look good on any system it's released on. Hell, if they can make decent looking games on the PS2, they can do it for the Wii.

Do people still seriously do the "...NOT" thing? Well, I mean, I guess they do, but ought they?

I gotta hand it to you, pal... you never, ever give up the fight, do you? :)

Not when someone tells me that Final Fantasy games are on the most powerful systems, when obviously the last generation tells us that that is false. :P

They can't, the power of the PS3 developments kits have mind control built into them. They load it up and then their minds go to stasis as they develop endless PS3 and PSP games.

Come now, don't act like the difference between the PS2 and Xbox is anywhere near the same as the difference between Wii and PS3.

Okay, they are always on the most powerful, viable system.

wait a second

- he debunked your technological argument
(since the PSone was clearly weaker thent he N64 and the PS2 was weaker thent he GC or Xbox as well)
- he made an argument about sales.. which is pretty much undeniable..

so yeah your argument does not look so strong now does it..?

exactly. Ps2 was Squares playground last gen and the XBOx blew that system away visually. PLUS it had a HArddrive :lol

No, I'm not. But it's an RPG... It's Final Fantasy for God's sake. You know? The game that is made of cut scenes? :lol Cut scene games don't require that much power. :P

Which ends up meaning nothing more or less than they have always been on the best selling system. Until now.

Do you even play modern Final Fantasy games? I don't think you do...

I never said that. I said the main FF games are known for being very tech driven (grafx) so they would work wonderfully on next gen plataforms. More so than on Wii.

Uh, yes, I have played modern Final Fantasy titles. Couldn't get all the way through XII, it was a pain.

Anyway, what annoys me most is that because the Wii is the weakest of the three, people act like it shouldn't get any epic titles. That's absolute bull to me.

what does his avatar have to do with the fact that you're talking from your ass

Am I, now? So the Playstation 2 was the most advanced piece of hardware last generation? That was the arguement, and I refuted it.

My point is that these "epic Final Fantasy games" don't have to be on the most advanced hardware. I don't mind that the PS3 has XIII, but don't deny the Wii amazing titles because of it's hardware.

I just realized I may have created an argument that may very well turn into a system fight...

Thats a first for me. I think I achieved something tonight! :lol

Not true.

It's getting SADNESS.

Haven't seen this posted yet.

Apparently, guy on the right in the Dissidia logo looks like Amano's Chaos from FF1.

That explains the TBC at the end of the 20th anniversary video.

Check again soldier. Nothing so far indicates Dissidia is part of FFXIII.
