Looking forward to your impressions.
Will do, I'm off from work in 30 mins.
Looking forward to your impressions.
Can I expect relativity stable performance at 4K?
I'm not sure you can hit 60FPS stable at Ultra, maybe around the 50-60 mark.
Nice, I would be more than happy with that level of performance at 4K.
Now to wait for a price drop, or just bite the bullet now...
Well, the Season Pass will be mandatory if you want to keep on playing this on PC. So keep this in mind as it raises costs dramatically. Not worth to double dip, imo. If you just want to see how the game looks on a 4k display. Visit the PC screenshot thread or the endor thread, there are some 4k screens there.
I double dip on many of my console games just for the 4K/PC experience. MGSV, The Witcher 3, Battlefield BC2/3/4, Alien Isolation, ACII, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Ground Zeroes, GTA IV/V, Tomb Raider, TitanFall, etc etc.
That said, just want to see if I should wait, or if I want to experience the goodness right now.
Screenshots are nothing compared to native 4K gameplay. That said, the game already got 30 bucks from me. Could throw another 60 at it and call 90 worth it....
Decisions.
Guys what is resolution scale and why does it look so dam good at %200? Literally looks much better then 1440p with normal scale
Playing on Ultra with TAA 1080p and Vsync with solid 60fps no drops or hitches on this rig:
i5 4690K 3.5GHz overclocked to 4GHz.
Zotac mini 970 GTX overclocked +100.
8GB DDR3.
128GB SSD for OS (Windows 10).
2TB 7500 rpm USB3 portable drive for everything else.
I thought I would suffer with 'just' 8GB of RAM, but nope, all good! I have Chrome open with 50 tabs and Photoshop in the background too.
I start to see frame drops on some maps/modes if I res scale over 125%, so I keep at 100%. Not bad at all though. TAA so beautiful when in motion compared to FXAA or no AA. Not a single staircase stepping artifact or jaggy to be seen when running around playing properly which is where those artifacts are most obvious.
SLI users using 60 hz monitor/tv, to achieve smoother gameplay is a must create a user.cfg file in game folder with this command
GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60
frametimes problems otherwise.
Also, using 0x09C976F5 sli bits it's possible to avoid some kind of performance problem every time you die that occurs with default bits. Surely not every flag in those custom bits are necessary but I've not tried every flag one by one, this way it works.
I just experienced the weirdest glitch I've ever seen while playing a multiplayer game. I was literally god mode out of nowhere and was kicking ass while being immortal without even realizing it. It was only when I got the expected "CHEATER" in the chat that I realized something was up.
I couldn't even commit suicide with a grenade. I had to quit out.
The TAA in Frostbite needs more work. It has ghosting on speculars or alphas with speculars. Its actually quite visible how image gets progressively more better with accumulation of more frames, similar to something like real-time raytracing demos getting less grainy after short while.

TAA on Endor looks bad. The foliage does not suit it well, even with sharpening. I usually switch to FXAA just for Endor.
FXAA is shimmering galore though.
Anyone getting weird sound issues? I've had the game give this weird screeching audio and at times no sound effect/music unless I exit out and restart. Very bizarre.

Anyone with similar-ish specs? Hoping to get at least medium.
I have this on ps4.
Reckon I could do 4k 30fps on pc with

16gb ram

Thanks! I'll try this.
EDIT: Seems to help, though I do get some screen tearing in the upper third portion of the screen.
So just a .cfg file with that line in the folder with profile settings file?
Anyone had any luck getting Steam In-Home Streaming to work with this game? I get 3 seconds of black screen then exits back to Steam. All my other games seem to work though.
PS4 version stacks up very well. I can't wait to see more Frostbite 3 engine games on it.

Been waiting for this.
which option can I reduce at 3440x1440 to improve fps with a reference 980ti? getting lsight drops in endor.

In order to reduce aliasing and shimmer without TAA I blur I went to 1440 125% (equal to 3200x1800) and to achieve at least 60 fps 99%+ of the time I went with these settings.
I personally found these to improve FPS with little noticeable loss in quality. 3440x1440 is a lower resolution so you wouldn't even have to dial it back this extreme (and I have a Fury, which is generally slightly slower). It's up to you what you notice and care about, but this is what I went with.
Thanks guys. Tinkered around with AO since it is what I notice the least and seems I only ever drop to 58fps now.I have 60 fps minimum with ultra + taa on every game mode and map, even that rainy blast map, with my 980ti hybrid (ref pcb) overclocked to 1490/7610 at 3440x1440. If you don't want to overclock, you could drop just shadows to high or AO to high, they cost the most. When I was using a 970 I had to drop shadows and kept everything else at high/ultra for 60 fps at this res.
Thanks for making those videos, they'll be useful in the future to show the type of artifacts TAA methods can cause. The TAA in Frostbite needs more work. Does anybody else get sound stuttering/popping issues? Particularly with music.

I do have room for some OC and don't mind doing it. What do you use to OC?

do you use headphones? Which ones do you use?
Yeah, I get sound crackle as well with my creative Titanium HD in this game.
I use MSI afterburner to OC and monitor.

Do NOT turn in game vsync on for this game. Massive input lag.
