Starfield xbox series Gameplay leaked

Liking what I'm seeing... Close to grabbing a Series X. Do I wait for this to inevitably release on PS5 in about a year? I think I can hold out a bit, can't wait for the reviews!

This isn't true. After some time walking (~10-15 min), a box will pop up that will say "Boundary Reached. Open the map to explore another region, or return to your ship." And then give you the option to return to ship, open planet map, or cancel.

Yes, I am aware it's a "trust me bro" statement. All I can say is that I have seen it and we will all see it for ourselves in a week or so.
Pete Hines begs to differ.

So we're cool with people just spreading lies around here huh.

Im actually quite surprised we have to wait for gameplay footage. It will sell a lot regardless if its clunky. People want to see the game run.

No reason to lie. I bought the Constellation Edition from Best Buy and very excited to play it. I played Starflight many, many years ago and the minute I heard that game was an inspiration I was all-in. This is no big deal to me--I wasn't planning on walking in any direction "for hours"--it will not make the game any less exciting to play.

In any event, as I said we'll all see for ourselves next week.

So did you see it or not? And did you see it in a retail copy or? Provide some more info

I haven't really watched OnPatrol Live yet since my work hours changed but I watched the original LivePD every weekend and after all those years of watching it, I learned one thing and it was that NOBODY has a driver's license or everyone has a suspended license.
lol yeah it's insane. They have like 100 episodes on demand on peacock.

Reminds me of the guy playing Skyrim a week before release playing the golden claw quest on a stream:

The whole chat going nuts telling him to turn back and grab the claw. He ran to the door without the claw because they didn't pick it up despite the quest marker (for some people it's not enough apparently). Later Him apologizing in chat when he gets to the door: 'sorry the game is bugged guy's'.

Entire chat screaming 'Go back!', dude runs past the quest marker for the claw (he killed the guy before talking to him and didn't take the claw) right past the quest marker to the entrance and outside.

After that he followed the chat suggestions, went back and it went fairly smooth up to the door…. after all that shit with the claw and following the chat you'd figure they had it, but no…the stupidity kicked right back in on the three ring symbols around the door.

Suffice it to say he never got past the door till the stream got pulled, after like 90 minutes starting at the entrance

….it's almost like the PR department in terms of takedowns is like: "let them be for a bit, they're so stupid they won't get anywhere anyways."

Other streams got taken down in minutes.
Lol, that's hilarious. I remember streaming it a week or two early on justin.tv I had a few hundred ppl watching and felt so cool haha. All those local video game stores went out of business or got bought by GameStop so I can't get games early anymore like I used to :(

So have you seen footage of the game actually doing this or not? Something that isn't already public. Seems like you're back peddling now.

I already said I saw it. Sounds like you and the other poster don't want to believe it. That's perfectly understandable. Just wait a week then and you can see it for yourself. (And also see that it absolutely does not affect the overall experience of the game at all)

I didn't watch the last video cause I didn't wanna spoil anything .. but went ahead and took a peek at this latest leaked video. Game looks great in 3rd person wow! Got paid today, scooped up premium edition. Didn't realize I had $35 in my MS account so bonus!

Anyone who actually bought a stolen copy off him has probably already been noted. No one else would be crazy enough to upload videos of the game at this point.
Well yeah but you know there's got to be a multitude of other people out there that got early copies. Pretty amazing they've kept released footage this locked down

In Elite Dangerous, there was a club dedicated to this.

I only did a quick scan, but this one looks like the winner.

So ....that was a lie? Cause hitting boundaries sure is different than being able to explore "entire planets".

It probably will make for more interesting exploration if there are limits on how far we can explore but still doesnt sit right with me based off how the game was pitched to us

Technically you still can even though you'd have to fly into orbit and land again, do that over and over again and you can explore the entire planet. So not a lie, but basically twisting truth. Hate that shit and continous walking is what I really like about procedural systems like in No Man's Sky...so this is a letdown...but we'll see what other systems make up for it.

Why are people whining about lack of all those novelty simulation features in a game which clearly doesn't advertise itself as such? If you want your planetary physics or fully explorable (vast, empty that become boring after few hours) planets there are games for you.

I havent seen the tweet in regards to the boundaries of the planets but maybe it is not how it looks?

Could it be that the planets in terms of navigation are flat and while you can explore the entirety of it, you cannot walk as if it was round?

I think ppl questioning the whole planet exploration have this in mind, that the planet is round and if you land somewhere and walk in a straight line they would end up in the same spot.

Isn't that how it should be?

You can see in the map that the planets are round (as they should be), but there are invisible boundaries that prevent you from exploring certain areas of the planet that you can see (which shouldn't be the case).

From the screenshot it looks like the player went to the far edge of the planet which reinforces this theory. That the planet is not treated as a round object. In essence though it doesnt take away from the fact that you still explore the entire planet.in any case we will find out
