Like anteater and others have pointed out, I'm really into the low poly look of FF4, my only issue is that it feels too zoomed in, like the camera should be pulled back a bit. Not sure if thats because im playing it on the laptop with a weird resolution or if its just the game.

Maybe because it was made for the DS where the screen is smaller?

If its the same ratio it would still feel zoomed in there tho?

Can't say I've tried as my setup only has 16:9 screens but do remember the game is a mobile port. It's even cropped on the sides on something like 15:9.
Here's what PC gaming wiki says:
Unusually, runs in a 5:3 aspect ratio rather than 16:9. Running in other resolutions will cause the game to be letterboxed or pillarboxed.

This comet spell from the twins is super op

Edit: oh ffs
now that I was into the twins they go and sacrifice themselves >_>

It looks like I'm nearing the end of the Knights of Pen and Paper +1 campaign. I'll post full impressions when I'm done, probably in a day or two, but it's a cute concept marred by some bad decisions in regards to gameplay (characters are very weak, and for all non-bosses the best strategy appears to be stunlocking) and some broken stuff (apparently, there are no more mining veins in the game, so you can't mine for grindstones - needed for two achievements - which are used to upgrade the blacksmith. You can upgrade him by BUYING grindstones or having him succeed at making stuff, but mining them would have been great.) Lots of unrealized potential.

Artorias is such a great boss fight. Just beat him for like the 3rd or 4th time now. His aggressive moves are so epic. Going after him 1v1 not holding back is so much fun. The encounter holds up really well for a 2011 game. Ahead of its time in so many ways.

That's nice. But, I bet that it will be more like the other way around (if it doesn't sell too well on Switch).

It's just a meaningless PR statement, like Ubi saying that there'll be a PC version of The Division if there's enough demand. Other versions are on the cards, if they don't exist already, and will be announced once Capcom is free to talk about them.

I want Fallout New Orleans, though POE2 is cool. I wish Bethesda would publish with Obsidian again.

If Bethesda ever published another Obsidian game they'd probably just do what they did with Arkane. Kill them then pick off the pieces they want to keep.

As much as I'd like another Obisidian made Fallout game it's not worth it.

I regret wasting my FFIV free trial on the PS4 version. Everything was going great until I actually had to control stuff...

I'm guessing it controls a lot better with KB&M than it did with a pad.

It was 10 dollars on PS4 over the holidays so I'm just playing that version with my mouse and keyboard hooked up to the PS4. lol

FFXIV:ARR from the beginning leveling to end game raids was the best MMO Experience I've ever had period. Heavensward was okay, wasn't bad but the endgame in vanilla ARR was phenomenal.

Hey Rhak, you may want to grab the Console Content Patch for XIII-2 before you start, if you didn't do that already.

I did not

edit: huh so reading those mods, you are capturing / using monsters pokemon style in 13-2?

and speaking of FF, IV has some neat narrative / mechanic things going for it, like this annoying no-metal dungeon for example. It was annoying (I didnt 100% the maps for the first time, fuck those cait siths that 1 shot you, fuck shitty cid's shit damage, and shitty tellah with his 500 health and no mana, and fuck shitty wooden sword cecil, mah boy yang carried me through it) but it was a neat idea so Ill allow it.

Games out by the end of the week and Nippon Ichi still hasn't put a price on Disgaea 2 PC.

WTF?

I was about to ask who comes back. Is Serah a playable character this time around then? Does anyone else come bck since its a direct sequel?

I imagine Lightning isnt in it since, well...the third is called Lightning Returns lol.

Oh and best thing about finishing XIII? My precious 58gigs of disk space ;_;

edit: wait Lightning is all over the pics in the store page, I guess she IS in it

Lightning is a side character in the story. She's not the focal point outside of the main-plot. You can "recruit" her FF13 version with a DLC, but for the most part is Noel (new character), Serah (meh), and whatever monsters/"Pokemon" they recruit for 13-2.

The monsters were an actually interesting twist on the party system, but I haven't finished 13-2 (started it on PS3, need to download the PC version and actually beat it there) to say how useful they are, since people beat the game with just Serah and Noel before.

Yep. The monster makes up the 3rd slot in your party.

thats weird. So theres only 2 actual characters, I assume its a shorter game than 13 then?

That would actually not be a bad thing >_>

edit: wait its 2 characters, one of them is Serah and the other isnt Snow? o_O Whut

To be honest, I never finished it. I think I was less than halfway when I gave up. There are the 2 main characters and heaps of monsters to choose from. You get heaps of upgrade points so don't be afraid to try out lots of them.

The game did feel less linear than 13-1, as for length, not sure.

The other main is a new guy called
Noel.
I think Snow shows up in DLC and a few of the others from 13-1.

If it is true that Q is one the characters that will be revealed for Street Fighter V season 2
then whatever direction they write the character will be inevitably disappointing imo

Bring back Necro motherfuckers
Q is not one of the charavters in sf5 season 2 from what had been speculated. You can use a Q skin for dictator in sf5 tho

Its a shorter game if you just rush through the story, its a far longer game if you do all sidestuff (and imo the sidestuff is far better).

if the side stuff is anything like the 13 one, count me out. I did like 8 or 9 of those Pulse "sidequests" aka bounties is what they were, and then whatever random ones popped up as I moved along the story, and they were shit.

if the 13-2 side stuff is actually narrative quests then Ill do them, but not if its more bounty type things.

The side stuff is worse than in 13. The worst offender is to win 7777 coins in a casino at one armed bandit. If i hadn't got insane luck i never would have done it.

Well GOTY has already been decided.

I'm convinced.

This might be the laziest most pathetic asset flip ever. I'm sure the guy in the header was ripped off from somewhere as well, Far Cry:primal maybe?

There is a lot of narrative sidequests in XIII-2 and the mundane stuff is also a lot less.

"Limed Reward Organisation" when the dev is named Limed. So lazy.

Steam needs a "deceptive product" flag. None of the existing ones really fit.
