Stone Temple Pilots fire Scott Weiland

One of my favorite bands since I was a kid. Saw them at Jones Beach a few summers ago. They were good, but didn't play a single song from Shangri-La Dee Da, acted like it didn't exist. Mostly old classics and stuff from the most recent album.

STP got a lot shit from old fans for "Sour Girl" but it's one of my fave pop songs from them evar.

Very good pop song, for sure. I think it really highlights how versatile that band could be. Weiland didn't like that pop era. I remember him saying in an interview that producers and the band often turned his songs from art to pop trash.

I will never forgive him for Shangri-La Dee Da.

Welp, that's how it started

And it has a fantastic music video.

While serving his prison sentence, he began watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and put Sarah Michelle Gellar in the video afterwards.

I fucking love Sarah Michelle Gellar. I don't much care for the actual song itself, but it's certainly not a bad song.

I can't believe the Tiny Music (and to a lesser extent, Shangri-la Dee Da) hate. This is in my opinion their very best song. Anyone agree?

I just don't think it's possible for me to like any STP song more than 'Vasoline'.

I never knew they were still active either. I did like some of their older songs, but with his history with drugs I'm not surprised. Guy looks terrible now.
