Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

Will try log in with my US account next. Have asleep for the past 12 hours and just woke up. Can't wait to try it out.

So how many days are they extending the beta?

We don't know yet. I'm not sure they consider the beta up and running yet since its still NA only (people outside of NA have been playing though) and its still having issues. I imagine that they'll tell us how long it's been extended after they get everything up and running properly.

They should just close the beta down entirely and retry in september.

it's on its way to getting better, though i think the sheer number of participants is still an issue. it seems like they ironed out whatever bugs were goin on with matchmaking at least.

THE BETA IS CURRENTLY DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE STOP WASTING YOUR TIME

They have basically said that when the beta is fully opened up again, the full 5 days will still happen.

I haven't played a single second of the beta yet. I'm hearing that they're closing the beta soon and while I understand that the beta is a beta. But if they close this thing and I haven't so much as touch the training mode. I think I have the right to be pissed off.

Which is exactly why publishers should never have used betas for marketing purposes. They've got data for the server and they've found issues with stress testing, but because other betas were using the term mostly as a lie and were basically demos. Before that, if you got into a beta at the start of last generation, this happened a lot. Server code that needs to be scalabale is a bitch.

That said, they have said that a test that's open globally will be for a full 5 days. If that's on the end of this or a little bit in the future is unknown, but it's happening.

I spent some time on the beta. It took me over 4 hours to get in maybe 3 times. I'm liking Nash and Birdie a lot. I got some footage recorded using my LGP but couldn't stream using the PS4 due to "blocked scenes".

People think a "beta" is the new "demo" we've got back in the days.

Fuck marketing.
It certainly doesn't help when you try to sell it as preorder bonus too. Though I'd still take beta preorder bonus over preorder missions, alts, items, etc... A beta doesn't take anything from the final release.

Sorry, annoying question that has probably been asked over and over but do we know when the scheduled maintenance will be over?

So are Capcom going to work towards making sure it works for everyone then start the 5 days Beta. Or are they gonna call it a day and be back for the next Beta.

So that's it then a final test tonight to see how it goes for North America only and then Europe/Asia rescheduled for other dates!

Well this has to be the worst beta I have participated in, even just giving us access to the training mode would have been ok!

They really shouldn't have labelled this thing a beta lol. Ah well, looking forward to when it comes back on, hopefully I can get in again

And what would you call the testing phase that comes after the alpha phase that is used to find bugs and glitches as well as test infrastructure for a game?

Got in for 10 minutes or so.

Ryu seems to have easy enough damage. I do like the smaller combos and huge damage. I've never been a big combo fan even back in SF2. (All based on the rather insane idea that since combo scaling exists, it's weaker to do any combos.)

So I think I may actually have an interest in playing Ryu for the first time ever.

Cammy and Chun Li are weird going in cold. Nothing seems to really combo like I'd think it would. (I do the legs... Then what? etc) But then, I never really played around with either much since Super Street Fighter 2.

After seeing Ken videos and not comparing damage to see ryu's output I thought ryu was screwed without any more options or tools but now nope ryu just hands down a beating on regular punishes. 3 hit bnb combos destroy people on their errors now and that is good for me.

A netcode stress test which this was imo

Also does anyone know what Chun's reversal is? Not V-reversal, actual reversal :)

Game looks spectacular. Didn't expect beta to be worse than splatoon global test fire but at least capcom is extending it which is nice.

Wasn't aware that the beta isn't going to be available for EU at all now. I'm surprised they didn't make it NA only to start with.
