Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

I can't remember any other beta having such bad connectivity problems, is it capcom or psn's fault?

Capcom, but it's mostly because it's doing more complex things than the basic P2P stuff SFIV was doing. The big games that have had online issues are, which is why I'm very happy they're getting issues now.

Ok, Devil's advocate... should they just be throwing a twitter up every hour saying "Nothing new to report"? Would that make some people feel better?

PS Blog and Capcom Unity blog should be updated at the very least.

Part of me feels like, due to no comments, that they want to turn it on today, but aren't sure if they can yet, so are keeping mum.

Optimism!

That doesn't address the issue of people being left in the dark though. We can already assume that there's nothing new to report if we're already one of those people that are already going to the one capcom unity thread.

Well, after going a day and a half with NO info on what's happening with beta length, potential fixes, server capacity fixes or lack there of, and when the damn thing will be back up, yes, they should give us an hourly update. Because it's almost mid day in every region in the States and we haven't heard a peep.

Having an almost 2 day dark period where this 5 day access beta is down and no info at all regarding it does deserve some heat sent their way. Don't care how much I love Capcom.

I dont know why. Honestly if I just got on to play today while working all weekend and logged on and found it wasnt working still I would ask the same thing.

I pretty much just asked if it worked and thats after waking up lol

Maybe they just feel that we're picking unfairly on Capcom? I don't understand it myself.

I just know as someone who was unable to play his PS4 this past weekend who thought upon returning on Sunday from a trip "Well it's been a couple days since Thursday, it's probably working somewhat" I found the Beta not working and checking Ono's twitter didn't help. So I don't know what these guys would have expected me to do besides maybe come in this thread and ask what the deal is.

If I am not mistaken, the last update said "
The SFV beta will be inaccessable today as our servers are down for maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenince caused."
That was 22 hours ago.
Considering everything is going on PST it is safe to say we will probably get an update in two hours or so which is 24 hours from the last update.

Last update was 22 hours ago, not even 24 hours.

I am more concerned with them putting effort into getting it ready to put up, not placating insecure and impatient followers.
Just me. I wan't every bit of attention on getting it working, then when they have something to say tell me.

So then ideally Capcom should update everyone but only via one twitter account every 24 hours at minimum? That's what you're saying right? Cause that what it sounds like you're saying.

They should at least say something about how long will the beta last upon it's return.

And something like "We're making sure that next time we turn the Beta back on it will work for everyone, no matter how many days it takes to get there."

Yes I'm impatient. :)

Tbh, I did expect some update by 11:30 est / 8:30 pst. I was mentally giving them time to get into the office, grab some breakfast, etc....

I'm in the same boat, got back this morning hoping it was up. Looks like no luck on that end though.

I guess if you want to be mr literal and interpret that as exactly 24 hours, rather than just the time we're awake.

I am saying that when they have something to say, they should update people.
If they have nothing to say, then why post?

if i had to take a educated guess capcom was not ready for the amount of people trying to get in (thx to amazon) and they are going to say this last week didn't count at all and they are trying to find more servers and will start over and treat this as a open beta.... witch it is

Are we sure they going to say something in 2 hours just because thats 24 hours? Sound like a guess

From what I understand it has not even started the "five day" timer yet.
This has all been biding time and when they stabalize then it will officially begin with the full length.

Having nothing to say is the same as having something if it's been nearly 24 hours and nothing obvious is showing for that time spent.

Makes me curious for how Dragon's Dogma Online will work out.

Not going to lie, if I was then and saw the nasty assed comments and horse shit salt getting thrown at them everytime they make any update that is not "It is up!" I would be really hesitant to make useless updates too.

Just came home. What's today's status?

PUSH X HARD or
PUSH X HARDER?

actually there's a cheat code and here's how to do it:

you have to have a save file from USF4 and a Mad Catz® Ultra Street Fighter® IV Arcade FightStick™ Tournament Edition 2

now all you have to do is input raging demon right before the application ends and you should be good to go

They really should've made this a closed, first come, first serve beta with the number of connections they knew they could handle. But I guess the point was to gauge how many people would try to connect so I guess it makes sense.

Also, Capcom can we please have a match filter when the game drops so that we can specify if we only want to play with people with wired connections? Is there a way for the game/PS4 to know if someone is wired or not? That's a next gen feature we need in SF V. I don't want to play people on fisher price Wi-Fi anymore.

So is the beta happening today? Is it done for now?

Let's ask based dog

"Maybe"

GOD HAS SPOKEN

Weird there's no update yet their Twitter and I haven't seen a post from combofiend yet. You'd think they'd keep us posted at least every 24hours.
