Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

I don't think it is my router, I've been having great games all weekend, and it just started happening. I'll give it a little bit and then I'll probably restart my router.
I don't know, I've had incredibly laggy matches roughly at around the same time you posted. It might not be you.

Yeah. I'm done with this beta period. First match of the night was okay w/ a same ranked player but subsequent matches have been worse in every regard. I'm in div 9 and getting paired out of my league w/ lag isn't fun.

I don't think there is any match making whatsoever, I've had a very small handful of games in my division. Everything else has been higher.

Yeah I think at the moment there isn't any matchmaking system. I get players from all over. from division 8,10,7,4 etc. I just play whoever the game matches me up with. Win some lose some. But atleast i am learning the basic of the game.

I don't know how it took me this long, but I just noticed a nice little detail. There's very little clipping, if any between characters. Whoever is pushing he other is on a closer plane or something. I think.

yeah theyre definitely not taking your exp into account when matchmaking haha
its all over the place

My anecdotal evidence with matchmaking at Beta Grandmaster rank is, if I get a match only takes a couple of minutes, it'll be another Grandmaster or Master. If it takes longer, it'll probably be someone of lower rank. But it could just be me, but I think it at least tries to match ranks for a little bit.

Most of my matches have been a lot better than SF4.

After playing probably 40 hours total during the beta test and stress test, I'd say 60% of my matches are great, 30% are totally playable(slight rollback), and 10% is total garbage(tons of rollback and input delay).

It definitely could use some improvements before release but considering how early it is, I've been mostly happy with it.

Didn't know Birdie's CA beat Cammy's and learned the hard way just now when I did reversal CA on reaction n got blown up lmao.

oh god just did a 40% combo with Cammy in V-trigger with like 0 HP left cuz the dude fucked up and threw a fireball. I can almost feel the salt coming from him lol.

My fundamentals and neutral game are trash. My Ryu just lost to this Cammy who was sitting there and spiral arrowing me seemingly whenever I released block to walk forward. Tried zoning in response, but she was doing her V skill thing that goes through fireballs on reaction. Fuck me.

Just sit there and block and punish spiral arrows (they are pretty unsafe on block) until they stop/you win.

Also, cammy's love pressing buttons. Don't be scared to throw some wakeup DP's out there when they're getting overconfident. The risk is definitely worth it with DP's having huge damage.

Try neutral jumping to bait them. Or build some distance and empty jump towards them but not close enough where you eat a cannon spike.

Was the netcode that bad that you couldn't walk and block it in time?

I get hit often when I walk forward a few steps and immediately try to block, usually by projectiles. Happens when the netcode is good and when it isn't. I don't know if it's on me or if there's input delay.

Just played a Bison that looked like he had no idea how to do anything. Felt really bad for him :(

Finally made it to Beta Test Master. Gonna call it a successful night there lol. God this game is so good.

Just got destroyed by a Bison good god

My experience with this game is so up and down. I seem to crush people that don't know what they're doing (repeated jump ins after I anti-air, etc) but anyone with solid fundamentals/confidence (which I am hugely lacking in - fighting games make me nervous as fuck) dismantles me.

Plasma TV. I think it has ~30ms of input lag. Not that I've ever noticed it in another game, and I really don't want to use it as an excuse.

Just asking because some TVs actually do have enough lag to cause what you're describing. ~2 frames (if my math isn't ass) isn't horrible though.

Man I just had my first big loss as Cammy against a Birdie player. I just had no idea how to get in. He was out-poking me from mid range and any jump in attempts were shut down with his c mp.

I specifically went with this model over one that was higher end because of lower input lag (other one was ~70ms I think). It hasn't been a big deal in any other game. Problem could just be though. I'm a patient player and am content to continually block fireballs and walk forward a few steps, block, repeat, but I feel like I eat stuff a bit more than I should with that strat.

The only problems I've had this weekend is with matchmaking... me.. SFV Beta test beginner vs SFV beta test Grand Master. Like I have any hope of winning against a grand master. I consider not getting double perfected a win to be honest.

Had my first beta rage-quit ; some Grandmaster Nash with psn id GENETICIDE I think lmao. Shut down his Nash and on his last pixel in round 2, the fuckboi disconnected.

I've had maybe 20 matches and have won about 1/4 of them. Some of my loses though I can legitimately blame on lag. I have had a few matches where things turned into a slide show. I don't think it is my internet because I haven't had this problem with other games. I guess beta is being beta.

Can someone explain how throws interact with other moves? I've had my throws stuffed, and have stuffed other people's throws. But there are times when I'm throwing jabs out and their throw goes right through it. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

I have lag on ~1/10 games. If it's every other game or most games, the problem is probably you.

LOL. Believe it or not, he has ragequit on other people here, too.
