Pretty sure her dad has since divorced and remarried and started another family. That was implied in episode 5

Usagi Drop 08: Bitch mom is a bitch. Rin is more adorable than ever, but I felt Daikichi was a bit stupid by leaving her alone in the middle of a graveyard. That's just creepy, man.

So it's okay to put a translator's note for an O-Bon festival but not for geta or yukata? :/ I can only imagine the pain of watching something like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei with translator's notes all over.

Yay, new stock footage to be re-used! Fucking finally. :) It makes everything look new despite having the recycling of Saionji as the duelist of the week.

When did Touga get out of his depression post-defeat by Utena's hands? It's great to see Anthy becoming more proactive in the duels. I think she's finally realising Utena is superior to her, and is starting to become her equal; Utena no longer lies in a bunk bed higher than hers, but at her side.

Hopefully Nichijou bombing* is enough to get KyoAni to do other things (non-Key related).

Then again, the K-On movie is out in December and they will be too busy rolling in money to care.

I'm not too surprised, given how much censored nudity is in the tv show... if it's like that but uncensored it might get that rating. You'd think they'd do something to cut the rating to 15, but I guess not...

I feel Nichijou is already KyoAni doing different things, as it's not nearly as otaku pandering as most of their previous shows. If anything, it bombing will teach them to do K-ON and Haruhi forever.
 
If Nichijou was all about cute girls doing cute things it would have actually sold well.

It wasn't moe enough for Japan.

Lesson learned from KyoAni is to stick to the tried and true formula and to never diverge from it. Hope you Nichijou haters are happy.

I don't think Ringo qualifies as moé, and Penguin fetishism surely isn't widespread enough to sustain that release.

Nichijou was kinda boring though. Very hit or miss. Fumoffu was laughs at a mile a minute. KyoAni can do comedy no problem. They just chose a crappy source this time around.

Maybe if it was funny for more than 3 minutes per episode it would've done better, being a comedy and all.

Nichijou was more hit than miss for me, but I would agree Fumoffu is better. The source material is likely the biggest part of that - everything I've seen indicates that the original Nichijou manga is rather mediocre, so it's a testament to KyoAni's skill that it turned out as well as it did. I'm not quite sure how things work in the industry - did KyoAni really choose Nichijou themselves or did a network or someone else commission them to do it?
