Link inside that article doesn't work.

its a fascinating read. I generally agree with everything he wrote, when you have to make the choice between improved graphics and 60 FPS the former is the better bang for your buck.

No.

60fps should be the goal and the standard for any times when the game is playable. Games are meant to be played first and foremost so the smoothness and responsiveness of that play should trump all else. If the game has some flashy effect but can't run 60, cut that shit out.

This is why 60fps modes with reduced effects and draw distances should be in console modes as an option.

Given it is an exclusive I expected either 1080p @ 30 fps or 900p @ 60 fps. Eugh.

Not that it'll dissuade me from getting it, it looks and seems to play fantastically.

But I can't help but be a little disappointed..... I'm only human.

GOOD, looking forward to playing it when i pick up a xbox one in 2018.
insomniac's idea of smooth 60fps in a crack in time was god awful, it put me off all the other ratchet games on ps3.

yeah, i'm fine with this

The letdowns will be more and more when time passes by, the PS4 will show stronger games and the Xbone is constantly struggling to even maintain a stable framerate.

Microsoft's head on choice for Kinect while not competing in the graphical departement is their dumbest choice as of yet.

I can't believe how many people are making a big deal out of this whole 900p thing. The difference between 900p and 1080p is incredibly hard to see, and you really have to look for it. It's a total non-issue.

As far as 30fps goes, it's a personal thing. If the framerate is constant, I'm personally not bothered by it but I can understand how some people are.

Sunset is more intensive than Destiny.

Says who? I think Bungie may just choose to scale down a few things here and there to get it to run at a native resolution because that's important to them.

Also, Insomniac isn't really known for their technical prowess, as far as I know.

Hopefully Phil Spencer wont let this shit go and will force them to make use of the extra 10% unlocked raw XBox One hardware power as well as the infinite potential of the Cloud.

The game is still a ways 'till release date, I have full confidence in Phil and the folk at Insomniac that the final release will run at 1080p and 60 FPS.

I don't mind it being 30fps but not achieving 1080p is kinda disappointing. Phil did say that the new 10% reserve would be put into the effects and other things so maybe they opted for that route rather than upping the resolution.

Even with the 10% of power without Kinect ?

Even with it...

Xbox head Phil Spencer made an appearance on Major Nelson’s podcast Sunday evening on the eve of E3 2014 where he confirmed that upcoming games like “Destiny” and “Sunset Overdrive” will make use of the upcoming Xbox One dev kit update that makes more of the console’s GPU power available

I know nobody was expecting it to be feasible on an XBO, but this is one game that seems like it would benefit so much from 60fps.

as a ps4 owner, I'm tired of even hearing about frames per sec and 900p/1080p...the average person I doubt can even tell. If the game doesn't have slow down..looks good and plays good...who cares about these bullet points. I wish there was a way everyone on the net would just let it go.

With that said sunset overdrive, makes me want and Xb1 but i'm gonna need more than one game before I pull the trigger.

WIll this get a pc version?

Making a game is about balancing a bunch of factors to try and get the best presentation. It's fluid. I don't understand this almost religious need for there to be the most possible pixels on screen, at the expense of everything else.

I'd *often* take a 900p game if it means I can get more frames or more stuff on screen or better effects or what have you. Like most people could even tell the difference between 900p and 1080p. Remember how terrible Ryse looked? God, that 900p, what a blurry mess.

I am utterly confused by the people saying they "don't care". No matter the type of genre but especially for a action game like this , 60fps is a must.
A must? Eh for me I've been console gaming long enough that 60fps is more nice to have. A good 30fps is good enough for most games I play. I lived through the psone/n64 era!
