I don't mind it being 30fps but not achieving 1080p is kinda disappointing. Phil did say that the new 10% reserve would be put into the effects and other things so maybe they opted for that route rather than upping the resolution.

i believe the devs mentioned they upped the numbers of enemies on screen at once

Insomniac have never really created games with 'superb graphics' (although Resistance 3 and Ratchet and Clank Future look very good). This just looks fantastic.

Resistance 3 was a beautiful game that was ruined degraded by what looked like several coats of Vaseline on the screen. I love their games but am not really surprised by the news, they seem not to value IQ as much as other things.
 
Stop worrying about numbers. The game played great at E3. It was a crazy amount of fun. That's what matters.

In the end yes but it's apparent other peoples focus will remain on this. So if that is what will prevent them from enjoying it then I'm not sure what to say but the discussion is still relevant leading up to its release. I just hope we have the ability to turn off that ridiculous trail blaze.
 
Bleh.

Disappointing, was hoping they would hit at least 1080p. Art will suffer judging by the footage.
 
Hoping that's a locked 30fps, as the game will really need it.

Saying that, the footage form E3 gives me hope that will be the case. Seems pretty smooth from most of the footage I've seen.

Having the frame-rate locked at 30fps even at the most demanding times is probably the reason why they don't have any plans of upping the resolution, of course if they maintain a steady 30fps they could always improve IQ with higher AA/AF e.t.c.

On another note I find it weird that we haven't seen 1280*1080 games on Xbone, it has slightly less pixel density than 900p but it will most likely scale better.
 
I expecting 30fps, but 900p is definitely disappointing. Thisngame has an art style that lends itself to a really crisp image quality.

Id be all over the hype if this game had like a 20% turbo option (like DMC3/4) Since it always looks just a bit slow to me in the previews. But with 30fps I don't really see that happening.

Game looks fun. 30 fps is disappointing, but if it's a rock solid 30 then I guess It's acceptable. Either way as long as the gameplay feels good it will give me a reason to save up for an xb1.
 
Seems like the kind of game where 60fps should be a priority.

For example I remember playing dead rising 2 on console and then on PC later, the difference was so apparent and the game was so much more enjoyable. I guess as someone who has been playing on PC and enjoying 60fps (even without max effects) I really hoped it would be the standard this generation for console exclusives.

That was an odd hope, considering it hasn't been standard for a very long time.
 
If only we can have a PC port :(
 
I could understand one or the other (1080p/30fps or 900p/60fps) but 900/30 is pretty sad for an exclusive that's been in development this long.

That's like saying that it was an odd hope to expect most N64 games to have 3D graphics because it wasn't the standard in the SNES gen. People expect the standards to rise in new generations.
 
If it's the same as GZ, but I don't think that's confirmed. However, it probably will be the same.
GiantBomb said it's 1080p/60fps on PS4, so it's almost certainly still 60fps on XBO, maybe with a bump to 900p, who knows.

And why compromise the most fun, the most responsive, and the most smooth experience you could have with this fun game and many others just for some extra graphical effects?
I dunno. Infamous wasn't 60 and I thought that game looked and played great.
 
For the type of gameplay they were going for I thought 60fps was guaranteed.

900p/30fps, the worst of both worlds.

Does Insomniac owns the IP?
