Mario does great whenever it launches. It can launch in March, June November or whatever. It's a different game from COD. The demographics have no crossover. I shouldn't have to explain this lol. 3D World sold over 5 million. 3D Land sold over 10 million and it came out the same day as A Link Between Worlds during the holidays
Yea.. but it's nothing compared to the 50+ million Mario games sold in the prior gen, I mean people are comparing Switch to Wii, right?
I am living proof of a crossover, either that or you are blind to the demographic that buys good games wherever they are. I'm buying Destiny 2, RDR2 and Mario. Most likely the Switch will be THE second system of choice which already throws that no crossover shit out the window.
CoD and Star Wars and RDR2 and ect etc will all canabalize each others sales so there will be obvious winners and losers. But Mario's demographic is not affected by a bunch of AAA releases near it.
This is 2017 bro. The PS4 is on a roll and a new GT coming out, as well as other stuff. Yea you do have Cod, D2, SW:B2, and a fuckin new R* game. MS has a new system coming out and will have a few different skus and new games. The Switch is a brand new console. It's a dope console, but it has a limited feature set for its price. Point is, yet again, they will get undercut to hell and Nintendo are not moving that needle no time soon. I agree Mario will move units, but it's still going to be tough, just as it was for wiiu.
It's crowded as hell. The only thing I'm saying is I can understand and wouldn't be surprised if he slipped into march and dominated the whole year of 2018.
I wish it was out now, but I understand that they need the big guy for the holidays...
...and that demographics bit definitely doesn't hold weight in its first year as casuals and hardcore alike will buy Mario. IMO of course. 🤗
