Tekken 7 Online Issues

I've not been able to play a single online PS4 match of Tekken in Ranked or Player match modes at home, and it looks like I'm not the only one.
Essentially the core online features do not work.

Namco & Harada have acknowledged issues, but I'd like to keep track here, of who is facing them and who is not, and if the patches really do fix things when they come.

http://eu.tekken.com/#!/en/news/regarding-tekken-7-online-matching-functionality

I'm on PS4 in Ireland and can only play in "tournament" mode and even then, not always.

Another Separate glitch is when in tournament mode the ability to spectate games is lost
Also one tournament after all matches completed, froze and no winner was declared.

The Matches in the tournament themselves, were between "fine" and "ok" as far as lag goes, when actually playing.

I have a second PS4 in my flat, which also has Tekken Downloaded, I'll try tonight to see if any difference. Maybe NAT Settings?

Online on PS4 is straight up fucked. PC and X1 have very little issues right now if any.

Which is a shame because the netcode is pretty solid when the online works and the game itself is an absolute blast.

The lobbies also need a lot of QoL features, it's horrible doing a 2 player lobby. It doesn't even have a rematch function for online!

This is ridiculous, if I were to review it I couldn't give it higher than an 8 for its broken ass launch. Game is fantastic but I'm getting tired of facing the computers.

On the same boat too... Can't fucking believe ign gave it a 9.5 for this. My PC friend always reminding me of how good the online is there and I don't wanna shell out $40 for that when I already got the CE.

Besides Tournament mode, if you create a new lobby in Player Match, and invite some friends, you are able to play online.

Northern Ireland , ps4pro, most of the times it works , have about 170 games between ranked and player matches. But there are instances where after getting an opponent i get the disconnect notification and it can be like that for hours. My biggest issue are random times where the game boots me to the main select menu at any time it chooses and thats even in custom made lobbies. Net code wise its really good, i would say a wee bit better then tag2.

Ps4 pro in France. Did not work once despite many attempts."connection lost" 100%.
Lobbies work though....

I play ranked on Xbox One.

Joining a match from the Match list seems like a 1 in 10 chance of joining the match.

I just sit in the match list and wait for a chilling to pop up. That usually works

Got a couple of friends who bought the game on Ps4 and they are having problems as well playing Ranked

No issues on my end playing on PC

PS4 online is a mess, but PC works great. Only getting one or two lost connections now and then. Matches connect 90% of the time.

AFAIK, Xbox One online is working fine as well.

Yeah I'm glad I stuck with the PC version.

I almost considered getting the PS4 version since the community might have been larger but the PC version was cheaper.

Over the weekend the PC had some issues with match pops coming up saying connection lost after accepting a match. However you could still get a lot of great matches. It was a minor annoyance at worst.

I've had 3 online matches since launch. THREE!!

Really pisses me off how it's taken Namco 4-5 days to even acknowledge the issues. Even then they seem to think it;s purely people rejecting ranked matched.

For me it's working like this... I enter the desired mode and wait. After sometime I get challenged by someone. I'm in Germany.

It's unacceptable. I'm really enjoying the base game, but I cannot play the main online mode. I wish I had gotten the PC version or not bought the game at all at this point, honestly.

5 days in and one of the primary functions of the game is still broken - I don't hate Tekken 7, but this isn't making loving it any easier.

Haven't been able to connect to any matches on PS4 at all. Big shame, though I suppose no one's more frustrated than Namco. Hope they have a quick solution.

Yeah it's a massive bummer. I've been getting in to plenty of ranked matched But it takes a lot of patience for one to finally connect. That's why I enjoy the revenge matches even more. Because at least you're getting 2 games for the price of one connect most of the time.

Lobbies work and connections range from fine to excellent. Plagued with the slow loading issues and the QOL features missing like not being able to rematch someone in a 2-man and not being able to migrate host.

Tournament search list is borked but got into one the other day. Wasn't quite full but everyone was from Europe and great connection apart from one guy from UAE with a slideshow of a connection. He won several games of bullshit shenigans.

Ranked warm up has never worked for me.
Got a solid ranked match last night by 'hanging around' in the match list after not hitting 'refresh list'.

Overall, needs masses of work. Game is lucky that the fighting is so bloody good.

Playing on PC in AU, had a handful of matches, didn't notice lag, but was playing others in AU, only failed to find a match once.

Once they do get the PS4 matchmaking working, I hope beyond anything the netcode is improved along with it. Because if it isn't we'll be restricted to only playing matches against people within our region if you want a playable match.

Really disappointing. Bought the PC version because I want to play multiplayer so bad.

Even tournament mode which hardly works on PS4 has a ton of issues ranging from connection problems (I can only join red bar rooms??) from fundamental problems like the entire room being removed if the host leaves mid game, the rooms crashing if if players leave at the wrong time, players not bing able to quit once they lose and the pot dropping when players DC/Leave. And Wtf, why can the host kick people mid way thru the bracket. So they can kick people they lose to?

How did they make such a huge oversight?

SFV all over again
SFV online was functional at day one, but it kept on booting you out of the servers every few minutes lol, but here i can't play at all, and if it somehow works it's laggy or drops mid match for syncing (though i never had those problems yesterday).

PS4P - In warm up rank match or search i have had zero success getting into a match after like 30 tries. In player match i got into a couple rooms out of quite a few tries, and the game runs well when you are in a match.. I have noticed some things go wrong like being dropped out of your spot for no apparent reason, and the fact that the room closes when the host leaves though that seems to be by design. In tournament tried a couple times and got in so that seems to work better, but i dont like how its disbanded when its done instead or letting you restart it with the same players.

Hah, I was going to be more bombastic in the thread title, but thought it might just be me having such sever issues.

Actually I didn't try online in the first days as I wanted to get to grips with my character more.

Sony should give a refund for this, and charge the publisher for compensation. Can't believe we waited so long for this broken garbage online mode. Really frustrating, especially after this whole early 2017 delay.

It's such a damn shame it's broken on PS4, because the online on the PC version is by far the best online in any fighting game I've ever played. The netcode is great, matches rarely feel laggy, matchmaking is fast and everything just works really well. I really wasn't expecting it to work this well, because most of the other fighting games online were either really laggy (ArcSys games) or just plain non-functional (SFV).

It's a Battlefield 4 type of situation.

The single player stuff is all solid, but online matchmaking is broken. The only thing I can play is direct invites to friends in private sessions. Creating open session or tournaments works, but they are never filled up. Joining sessions and tournaments only works sporadically. I tried. A lot. I'd guess I had a sucess rate of entering a tournament of 5 % yet the rate of actually playing is somewhere at 1%.

It's ridiculous.

Same. Have yet to play an online match (ps4). It's getting quite ridiculous
And there's very little news coverage about it. I guess if it's not street fighter game sites don't care at all

Drive club was slammed. Street fighter slammed. Both derveredly so. But tekken? Eh just go buy the pc version and a shrug.

It's a shame because for how fun the base game is, getting the online was literally the one thing they needed to get right, and they still drop the ball regardless.

And Namco deserves to be blown the fuck up for their slow ass response as well (we're nearing on a week of completely broken PS4 online).

The media really dropped the ball on this one as well; if I had known the PS4 online was this fucked, I would have just picked up the PC version.

Not that I much care for arcade mode but this defense is weak because Tekken 7 has one of the shittier arcade modes I've seen a fighting game and it's been playable in arcades for two years.
I think he is being sarcastic lol, even back when SFV launched few people complained about messed up online, but everyone was complaining about lack or arcade mode.

Did any reviews actually "review" the online components in Tekken 7? Or did they simply skip that and gushed about casual modes most people will stop playing after a few weeks? This is why I always wait and don't trust reviews - especially for fighting games.

To be fair, the most important mode is the local VS., which works flawlessly.
