It's on all the big Norwegian news-sites. Six were arrested and bomb technicians were sent out to investigate a site, but it probably was a false alarm and nothing was found.

Like I said, it's simply extremist propaganda at a bus stop.CheddarApple said:I refuse to believe that is genuine and enforced in London.

Largely unrelated to the thread, but I live in a state here in the US where virtually all of that stuff is banned either at the state or county level anyway. We just recently got gambling legalized, but don't play your music too loud!Sebastard said:

Seems large portions of the manifest are copied word for word from the unabombers manifest.
He changed words like «leftism» and «leftists» to «multiculturalism» and «Cultural Communism».

It is real. It isn't sanctioned by any authority, but it is real. Similar anti-gay posters have been sighted too.Ledsen said:Stop quoting the sharia propaganda poster, some people probably think it's real.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you remove the "Sharia" description, there would be virtually nothing out of place on this sign if you posted it in the parts of the nation that are most worried about "turrists." I know there's more to Sharia law than that, just something I found ironic.
The poster implied that it marked an actual "sharia controlled zone" in London, which is complete bullshit. Obviously it's a real propaganda poster, but that is not why it was posted.SmokyDave said:It is real. It isn't sanctioned by any authority, but it is real. It's no different to any other extremist propaganda but it is real and it is relevant.
Well, it's not really complete bullshit. Ignore the Daily Mail article that Sebastard posted and look for the original investigation carried out by the Sunday Times.Ledsen said:The poster implied that it marked an actual "sharia controlled zone" in London, which is complete bullshit. It's absurd, most of us don't believe it, but amongst us there are always few who'll take the bait - usually the ones who are predispositioned to think a certain way about issues, i.e. people with confirmation bias.Zeliard said:Don't mind that garbage. Whereas you're immune from confirmation bias and yet seem able to reject evidence with an effete wave of the hand because it doesn't suit what you want to believe?Jasup said:It's absurd, most of us don't believe it, but amongst us there are always few who'll take the bait - usually the ones who are predispositioned to think a certain way about issues, i.e. people with confirmation bias.
The strongest weapon amongst populist arsenal is doubt.
edit: gosh, I'm slow today... comes with the drinking I suppose.
Arkansas, and yes, what is not illegal is heavily taboo, marginalized, and frowned upon. I have the luxury of living in a college town, so it's not so bad here, but the rest of the state (outside of the larger towns) isn't far from seeing signs like this a reality. I didn't notice the sign said porn, but prostitution is illegal. And hell, there have been motions to outlaw pornography here as well.meadowrag said:"Virtually nothing"?

Concerts, porn, alcohol and smoking are illegal in your state?

Seriously what is your problem? I dont think its OK when certain areas are non-religious, non-gay, non-women friendly. It doesnt matter if its christians, muslims, white supremacy, blacks or whatever controlling it.Ledsen said:How many forums have you tried to infect with your bullshit? Ok, I looked into it. There are those zones, but they are set up by local islamist groups, not enforced by the authorities? Are they?SmokyDave said:Whereas you're immune from confirmation bias and yet seem able to reject evidence with an effete wave of the hand because it doesn't suit what you want to believe?
The mainstream news have reported on these 'zones'. Are you accusing the Times and the Guardian of fabricating news?

He's a former military man.
When he heard gunshots he jumped onto his boat and went to the island. He managed to save 30 people.
Indeed. As I said, they're not sanctioned by any official authority but they do, factually, exist. Any attempt to pretend otherwise without evidence is proof of confirmation bias or an agenda, IMO.Jasup said:Ok, I looked into it. I am myself a 2generation immigrant from South America living in Sweden. I am an atheist and homosexual. Do you think I want zones in my town that I cant enter because its some religious thugs that control it and want to terrorize people with their ideology?
Why is the left so afraid of critics of extreme islam?

This is crazy. I just think its wrong that there are zones in big european cities that threats and intimidates people who dont fit their own little world.
