The 3DS is the greatest console I have ever owned.

I also agree, been gaming since the nes days and honestly the monster library that the 3ds has is truly amazing. So many amazing games of all genres for all kinds of people. I always have mine around and try to play it as often as I can. I have a lot of 3ds games and its one of the few consoles I have owned where I decided I want to collect all the good games, just because of how awesome the system really is.

I agree, if for no other reason that it can play every single DS game I own on it as well. Having quite a few games in its own right seals the deal. Fantastic little device.

bought mine day 1, no regrets, even after the price cut. but...

as good as the library is i was expecting something a little more robust, given the stereoscopic 3D and its possibilities, which i still feel remain mostly untapped. i would've preferred more shmups, dioramic platformers and action rpgs a la 3D land and LBW, and other creative games instead of a boatload of jrpgs, which is essentially what the system ended up being for.

I'd probably think the same if I hadn't played dozens of great games on a DS before, so the bc kinda loses a lot of its appeal to me, but those who skipped it won't have that issue and will definitely enjoy the most varied, abundant and cumulative console library of all times

even without that, the 3DS remains incredible, and still got what i consider the best handheld title ever made

The only thing that would make the 3DS that good would be if we got some real Castlelvania games, Advance Wars, and a Metroid

I actually bought the system mainly for its jrpgs, so that was good for me.

I dont consider it my greatest ever, but as far as jrpgs are concerned this gen it probably is at the top with ps3.

To each their own. It's been a string of disappointments with a few decent games.

I would've sold mine a long time ago if not for SMT IV and Soul Hackers.

I liked 3d land on it..that's about it

For some reason I never feel like playing handheld games. If I do play them, I never finish them.

Used to enjoy Pokemon a lot but I still haven't beaten Y yet after a year .got to 5th gym before quitting

Dkcr3d had awful frame rate so I gave up on that

Kid Icarus uprising has awful controls..I really wanted to like it but could not

Smash 3ds was okay. But no reason to touch that game since Wii u version is so much better

I haven't finished link between world's either. Quit after beating yoga? At lowrule then had zero motivation to go back. The rest of 3ds's library just don't interest me

I really wish the 3ds wasn't so outdated. Thing needs more multi media functions

You have a smartphone for that. This is a games console.

Don't know about greatest, but it's certainly the most played, and has the largest library in my home.
If that screen was better, it would be the console of all time.

That's probably because the 3DS is the best gaming-dedicated system ever created.

Who would've thought after that launch window, huh?

It's a good system, but not the best game system or even portable I've ever owned. The library is way too small to claim that prize.

Still great though, and I love it!

Even though I'm a Playstation fanboy, I think I have to agree. Being able to physically play DS games makes it a no contest in terms of the amount of amazing games it can play.

Oh, and I prefer handhelds before anyone jumps on me.

I tend to judge consoles by their original library, in which case the 3DS is a solid B+, but yeah, as a device I currently use to play all manner of games, new and old, it's fucking gold.

Those SEGA 3D releases alone, man.

There's a 3DS version of Picross on the eShop but IDK how good it is or if it's a full game and not just some Picross lite thing.

That's just classic Picross, which is good but still not as good as the 3D version released for the DS in my opinion. Best puzzle game I've played in ages.

As far as all of this gen is concerned, Vita Ps4 Xbone WiiU

None of them stack up to 3DS quality and breadth of library.

It really is a wonderful system, I don't know about greatest ever, but it's definitely the one I play the most right now.

...and it seems like there is still quite a lot that has yet to be brought over from Japan or has to be released in general.

Nothing stops this train,

question about upgrading to the new 3DS:

If I want a to use a 32GB microSD card should I replace the 4GB factory one before I even turn it on and begin the transfer?

I think you can, that's what I did.

Question, if I have 378,809 open blocks left, how much is that in GB? I have a 64GB card with quite a lot of stuff on it, so I guess this means I have 37GB left?

Edit: If I'm correct, that should be about 500.000 blocks, so I have plenty of space left it seems.. awesome.

I bought it when n3DS was released on Europe to sure a Nintendo ID, but I cannot play this console I feel it very uncomfortable and with ugly graphics. The only game I plan to buy is Dragon Ball fighting game if it gets localized but gameplay should be horrible.
I think I will buy the next nitendo handheld console as far as sony does not seem to make another portable console but I hope Nintendo abandon 2 screens model.

There's plenty of stuff on 3DS that looks great.

If I buy Contra 4 and my friend does the same, can we play multiplayer even though we both own the New 3DS consoles, or would the multiplayer only work on the DS?

It's a very good system and I'm enjoying my time with it but it's not even close to that. In my hierarchies, it's not even the best handheld this generation.

I had no intention on ever buying a 3DS. NONE. ZERO.

Then Atlus decided to unleash an avalanche of SMT\Persona\Etrian Odyssey games on it.

Shin Megami Tensei IV
Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
Etrian Mystery Dungeon
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker

OK OK Atlus You've won!
Nintendo owes Atlus a thank you for my money.

If it's the "best", it's only because of its BC with the original DS and its incredible library.

DS was the peak of the core mobile gaming experience.

I bought Animal Crossing and Pokemon Y for it. Spent a lot of time watering flowers and getting to know Pekoe, barely played a few hours of Pokemon. Other than that I haven't been that into my 3DS.

Nope. Worst handheld I've ever owned. Solid software ruined by absolutely horrible hardware. I couldn't play my 3DS for more than 20 minutes before my hand would cramp up, so I had to sell it. Shame, too. Lots of great games.

OP I think you mispelled PS2 ;)

The 3ds is good, but nowhere near the best, be it the build comfort or library. It wouldn't look so hot if it wasn't for those N64 remakes to beef up the library.
