Naomi Watts please

Seriously this. Only actress on there that piques my interest at all. Naomi would make a great Catwoman if they did go that route. I mean I don't want them to go that route but if Catwoman absolutely must be there, Naomi Watts should be the one to play her.

i didn't even notice "Blake Lively" there but seriously she won't get whichever role(s) we're talking about and probably had her name thrown in there by a desperate agent

Watts or Weisz

Gonna pass on the idea that a sequel to TDK with the name in the title and everything is gonna be more narratively connected with BB.

It can't be connected to both?

With all of Nolan's talk about completing the trilogy, closing the story, bringing things down rather than blowing them up, etc. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some narrative connection to BB.

I don't mind Talia as a character but I don't think I really want to see Nolan go back to the League of Shadows as a plot device.

On the other hand, Selina's a great, great character, but I don't know if they'd be able to fit in any kind of functional origin story for her while keeping the film well-paced. Nolan's Batman films have worked well because they have managed either to avoid the villain-origin-story thing or because they manage to tell it over the course of the film. Catwoman's not a villain but I think she'd still have to fall into one of those two categories, neither of which would really do justice to the character. We'll see.

I'll take some Rachel and daddy issues into account, obviously, but as I see it, having a villain be an offspring of another is too implicitly tied for what Nolan usually goes for.

Anne Hathaway proved that she can act amazingly well in Rachel Getting Married, so if that's the Anne Hathaway that we'd be getting, I'm all for it.

Natalie Portman would also be welcome, as would Naomi Watts or Rachel Weisz.

Rachael Weisz was actually the actress I thought would best be Talia.

I'm fine with any of those choices in general except Portman, Lively and Knightley.

and wtf, isn't Lively in Green Lantern? and Portman is in Thor. What is it with actors and taking multiple comic roles these days.

Didn't Goyer outright dismiss Catwoman (and Penguin) a while ago?

I'm betting on Talia too.

If so, good. I don't get why people think she's a good character at all.

Yeah, here it is:

“Batman has been published for 70 years. In the first movie, we used Ra’s Al Ghul and the Scarecrow, who had not been in the movies before, and had not been in the ’60s TV show before.

“There are dozens if not hundreds of other characters that fit that bill. Everyone says it’s got to be the Penguin or Catwoman [in the next film]… well I completely disagree.”
