Edit: please don't call it bugs when you can't figure out how to continue.

Haha yeah I noticed that. Very funny.dark10x said:Man, the launch of this game has really produced a bittersweet reaction around here.
I think it's pretty clear that, although the game IS good, it certainly failed to meet expectations. Whether fair or not, people were expecting something better than Riddick in every way.
On a side note, I enjoyed the little commentary on "Swedes" in the bar early on.![]()

am I the only one :\
Stuff about Swedes liking to have sex with mooses. No, I'm not kidding.JdFoX187 said:I shot everybody in there. What did they say?

Anyway, I might pick this up later today. Still kind of torn between versions though.

Paul Jenkins said:Well, they are amusing but I think they also help to promote the more tragic aspects of The Darkness. It's a great idea to have moments of humour juxtaposed with sadness because it helps the more emotional moments to stand out. You know, originally we created 50 different Darklings that the player could control. Some of them had absolutely no powers at all, so you were always really annoyed when you got one that would just run around. They're great for comic relief though and it's a bit like having a humorous gun or something to lighten up the mood.

Mesijs said:Ok sorry guys, maybe I was a bit a too passionate fan.
You know, I'm honest, I just can't stand people not liking this game, it's that easy.
SantaC said:sure, but why are you still here if you rented it, beated it, and didn't like it?
Kabuki Waq said:i didnt beated it. But i am commenting on it as i go along. which is more than you.
Honestly you were basically viral marketting in this thread.
Actually, facial expressions are pretty bad throughout. The close-ups would look incredible with Half-Life 2 quality facial animation, but things look pretty janky here.Voice acting is some of the best I've heard, although the lip sync isn't quite there.

DreamMachine said:this game is getting frustrating, it's hard to know where to go half the time sigh..
can anyone tell me what I am suppose to do or go, ..
after you kill the cops for the first time, you get to that dock but there is no place to go??
Dai Kaiju said:HALP! I'M STUCK!
Just got out of hell for the first time and I have the letter that says I need to kill myself on holy ground to get back. I'm assuming he means Trinity Cemetary. I'm there and I found Jenny's tomb stone, but how am I supposed to kill myself? Does it involve that high voltage stuff just outside the walls?
Fallout-NL said:Any word on this being region free? I could save myself 30 euros that way. That would help justifying buying an 8 hour game.
You're going to have to explain this...how exactly would the CPU (Cell) assist with motion blurring? MB (as I understand it) is a GPU/memory function...Onix said:So ... the PS3 version is gimped?
From watching some of the 360 videos ... the fact that motion-blurring wasn't used all the time ... but only when in snake mode, seemed to really add to the the atmosphere. It made it other-worldly. If it were used all the time on the 360 version, and not at all on the PS3 rev ... that actually wouldn't bother me as much. The fact that it is an actual atmospheric effect only used in certain situations on 360 ... makes the PS3 version's absence poopie.
It's weird that the reviews don't seem to mention it. I'll probably rent this though.
CELL should have no problem doing motion blurring. However, its not something that can be simply tacked on ... the engine would need to be designed to do this.
In the case of the 360, using Xenos to do motion blurring CAN be tacked on. This seems to be a case where the devs ported the 360 engine over ... and then were like OH SHITS ... we can't just flip a switch.
I'm kind of mad though ... because the devs seemed to have claimed it would be there![]()
