Read something earlier that as soon as TV people heard the boos from the California delegates, they moved their crowd mics down there to amplify it.

Chris Hayes and Nate Silver have both said that it's about 30 people making all the noise in there, they're just REALLY loud.

Moving mics or adjusting volume of mics can change the audio and feel of a live event drastically.
