To add to all this, the original DS has a pressure sensitive screen.

All resistive screens have this. Problem is that it's very crude and not very accurate, so not very useful TBQH.

Not sure, but it's built into a lot of capacitive ones already too. Apple didn't invent the technology, just the first ones to use it properly.

Personally, I'd like to see a controller that uses a pressure sensitive L2/R2 trigger, like how the DS3 approached the face buttons. So it would have the advantage of instant activation for the majority of games that benefit from it, but also caters to those who need the analogue feature.
