I don't ever play horror games cause I'm a chicken but damn I'm interested in this.

It's giving me Silent Hill flashbacks, which make me uneasy haha

Not typically a fan of scary games, but I'm so drawn to this. Still on the fence but the hype is strong.
 
This game scares the shit out of me.

I also hope that they don't go overboard with the ammo scarcity. I understand how it plays into the genre and story, but I hate it when games don't give you enough ammo to continue.

I can't think of a single game that doesn't give you enough ammo to continue unless you're shooting at walls.

Scarcer the better imo.
 
I actually regret watching this now. It shows some spoilers and how to beat a boss.

Wow, looks more and more like old RE is back and on steroids. So much so, that I think I will actually get a strange sense of nostalgia mixed with a sense of freshness from playing this. What is old becomes new again.

Eh, I had issues with the first Bioshock. Ammo scarcity in that game was one of the reasons I didn't like it as much as some seem to.
 
I couldn't resist but yea plenty of spoilers for bosses and environments

hopefully bethesda hasn't shown everything like in a blockbuster trailer

Bioshock starts you off pretty weak, but about halfway through you're practically a god with endless ammo and prostitute magic. (Hint: Winter is your friend) This is how it is with most RPG-like titles.

You too? Sony sent mine back the same day they received it. Hoping to get a problem free unit as it seems Im playing the refurbished lottery.

I actually sent my launch PS4 in about 3 weeks ago, and received and replacement unit a week later. I played 3-4 hours of Destiny the day I got the replacement unit, and then the next morning it wouldn't turn on at all (no lights or sounds). So now I'm waiting on my second replacement unit. The first time they sent me another PS4 it shipped the day after they received mine. This time they have had it since 9/29 and haven't sent me a new one out yet. Good luck.

That's kind of the point though. The game wants you to find other ways to survive, whether it's through stealth, hiding, running, using traps etc. It's awesome to have a game where the solution to all problems isn't shooting.

Really? That's a perfect combination as far as I'm concerned.

At this point I'm not watching the trailer or reading any articles or reviews until I've had a chance to play it for myself. I feel like my hype level is at a good middle ground. I had no interest in this for a long time but it's been looking and sounding better and better lately.

I'm expecting a solid survival horror game and that's it. I don't care if it's a masterpiece or the second coming of survival horror. RE1 was the game a friend convinced me to buy a PS1 for when I had been out of gaming for quite a few years. I just want something that brings back a bit of that old RE experience.

This is unbelieveable, did they at least expedite shipping from the usual ground the second time?
If it happens again you should demand a brand new unit.
 
Wow, the crossbow is pretty much just the Javelin Gun from Dead Space.

Which is like the best thing ever, so I'm totally fine with that.

Definitely didn't overnight it. It was standard 3 shipping for the coffin they sent, and it took about the same time for the system to get back to them. Hopefully they get my destiny disc back to me, and if I have any other issues I will definitely ask for a new system. I'm hoping that I'm just a statistical outlier and I don't have as many issues as I did with my 360 in it's early years.

Everyone needs to implement the Advance replacement system MS has with the Xbox One. You get a new working Xbox shipped to you first (took me two days) and then you package your broken one in the box and return it. Just have to deal with the hold on your credit card until they receive the replacement.

On topic, I've been trying to exercise restraint and hold off on this game but it's getting tougher. Hoping some sort of a deal shows up before release but I'm still not 100% sold on this yet so I'll wait for reviews and/or a deal to finally jump in .
 
Looks amazing and the gore...wow...its been a while since a game was that brutal. Mikami knows what he is doing. Hope it sells well, thats my only concern.

I don't like when it's too creepy or oppressive. I play a game to enjoy myself, not to be constantly stressed out. I always loved Resident Evil because it's not strictly an horror game, it's also a disaster kind of game, aka Bio Hazard.

The RE's Mikami worked on prior to RE4 were strictly horror games.

REmake is one of the scariest games I've ever played.

The irony here is that i LOOOOVE silent hill and RE, but i refuse to play RE:3 because the nemesis constantly showing up and ruining my good time is too stressful.

Silent hill is almost always a game where you can take as much time as you need.

It's easy to say when you're watching a youtube video, it'll be different in the dark w/ a headset and you in control.
 
It doesn't look scary to me at all. It's difficult to scare me with movies or games. It just looks like a fucking fantastic return to horror. One that I have missed all too well. I am so excited I cannot wait for next Tuesday. The first real game I've been anticipating.
