It's not exactly mentioned but I guess that's the case from what is implied,
especially after she saw how Cassidy feels about her father...Plus, what Danny told Corrine about how she doesn't want to put more pressure on her side of the family, with support money, etc.
Anyway, just to clarify, near the end of tonight's episode,
Looks like Shane and Vic/Ronnie will be coming straight at each other after the next episode.
And Ronnie really is Vic circa season 1. I'm thinking he's going to be the only one to jump clear of this shitstorm and the series will end with him being much in the same position that Vic was when the series began.

Does anyone else feel like this episode was just filler? I mean I liked it, but it didn't seem to advance the plot much. Maybe I've just been drinking too much tonight, but it seemed less eventful than most episodes.
Also, next week's episode is when shit will really hit the fat. It's going to be a game-changer.
As for Ronnie and next week's episode, er, did it not reveal what happens to him?
Claudette says something along the lines of "You almost got one of my officers/detectives killed". Was she not talking about Ronnie? It seems Shane failed to get Ronnie killed.
. I agree that this episode was semi-filler, but it did establish a couple of very important things with Danni, the box, and of course the ending with Shane's little meeting. I also liked
seeing Shane all paranoid when they were carrying out the busts.
The prostitute subplot was weak, and the Vic/Danny stuff is still lame. However, things now appear to be set up quite nicely for some epic "OH SHIT" moments in the coming weeks.
Yeah it did kinda seem like filler. Not boring just disconnected from the last episode.
That hooker played Vic like a goddamn fiddle and I really thought he was gonna hurt her.
I'm really wondering where Julian's story is gonna go. Throughout the series Vic and Claudette and of course Danny have been tutoring him. Even Ronnie seems to have a good working relationship with him.
Claudette looked like she was prepping one of her kids for a big trial when she was talking to him. When Vic blew up at the end he specifically called Julian one of his guys and was pissed he had to kill someone. I may be completely off but I could see him being set up as one of the pillars in the Barns future (if it even has one).
And is Vic's dirt catching up to his ass or what? Talk about chickens coming home to roost. And they haven't even brought up Terry in a flashback this season have thay? His brother promised to put Vic in the ground...and Mara/Shane hinted at another doomsday file...goddamn I can't wait to see this play out.
And I'm loving how the whole world seems to be conspiring around Vic after all these seasons of him beating and bullying fortune in his direction. And he doesn't even see it
Shane packing up to move, Danny packing up etc.
And regarding
Vic trying to "put Shane right" cause he felt responsible for making him that way...wasn''t the whole theme of Season 5 "Conscience is a killer"?

It was kinda weird to see Julian push away Ronnie. I mean, towards the end of last season and throughout this season, the strike team has been pretty much low key when it comes to their violent antics.
Maybe they're setting up Julian to be a Lem like character? I could see the the series ending with Ronnie in charge of the strike team (being as cunning and vicious as Vic was in season one) and Julian (the one with a conscience) in tow. As Vic and Shane go down in flames, the strike team starts another vicious cycle.

That's sort of what I was thinking. Only I'm not as confident of Ronnie surviving this season as I am about Julian. Would def be a satisfying conclusion though.
I think it's nuts how thin Vic has spread himself.
Danny's baby, his own kids, losing his job, taking down Pezuela, getting the Armenian mob off his back, and now Shane is gunning for him... I don't think the guy can take much more.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had a heart attack or something (a shitty way for him to go but I could see it happening.)
This season is just getting more and more tense! Ronnie has really become a cold hearted motherfucker! Cant blame him after everything he has been through but damn!
The great thing is i still dont have a clue how its all gonna play out but thats one of the best aspects of The Shield, you never really know whats gonna happen next.
P.S Vic should have smacked that crack-whore upside her skanky head for the way she played him, and then the way she taunted him after..... I dont think i could have just walked away from that shit!
I found myself rooting for shane this season, which I never thought would happen. I hope he kills Vic himself. The way the hooker taunted Vic and then laughed was just fantastic, I missed moments like those the past few seasons.
Great fucking episode. I love the relationship between Dutch and Claudette. I never feel Shield episodes are "filler". They all have great characterization so I'm fine with them even if they aren't action packed.
I like this idea of Ronnie becoming the new Vic, and Julian the new Lem, in a new Strike team, kind of brngs everything full circle. Shane and Vic are probably gonna end up wiping each other out it's just a question of how. I think they're gonna set it up so that Vic has multiple different people looking to murder him to keep the viewers guessing as to who is gonna finally lead to Vic's demise. I wonder if Aceveda will have anything to do with Vic's possible death? Obviously he won't get his own hands dirty, but I wouldn't put it past him to pass on some information to another party that may lead to Vic's death.
I think Ronnie is gonna get dead next week. I'll have to make sure my neighbours know If they hear me cursing and breaking stuff it's because Shane needs to die.
I'm thinking/hoping the end of the show will be Vic on his own, with his box of belongings from the farm, family all on the run, strike team all dead, no where to turn, no cards to play, Flogging Molly playing in the background, Roll Credits.
He's not going to die. Well, next week's episode as far as the description goes for ep.8. Shane and Mara are on the run and Vic is chasing after them by ep.9.
I've been quickly catching up and i just finished ep 4. :O at the ending. This just feels like an unprecedented level of shitstorm brewing that i can't possibly see Vic getting out of.
Love the beginning of what looks to be a new serial killer arc. Nice casting with Beaver. He can play that role to perfection.
I'm avoiding all the posts on the last few pages. I just needed to vent about how gripping this show is. <3 Dutch and Claudette.
No one person caused it. It was a build up of multiple things that lead to his death but the ultimate tipping point was wasn't Aceveda, but Kavanaugh. Remember it was his idea to feed Vic the wrong info.
Btw, this past episode was fucking incredible. Vic is going to self destruct. There's way too much on his mind for him to survive what's coming. The look on his face as he was walking away from the hooker was one of a man about to loose control, and control the one thing he desperately needs right now.
Vic really only has himself to blame for the amount of shit that's on his plate. It was cathartic to finally hear him admit that he was responsible for a lot of what Shane has become. I can't begin to imagine how everything will end for Vic Mackey but the most poetic thing that could happen would be to see it all end by his own hands, in some show of sick irony. I can't wait to see what's coming.

I sent you a PM of a detail script of the trailer. Don't read it if you don't want to know, it feels like it's more of a summary of the next episode, than a trailer. It feels like what the show will be in a short clip.
