The Final Act: The Shield Season 7 Official Topic

No fucking way am i watching that preview. I accidentally got spoiled for Lem's death during my epic marathon and i was kicking myself.

I'm officially caught up now! It'll be a nice change of pace for me to watch it with weekly intervals to let the episodes sink in.

Latest one was great. Maybe not from a story arc forwarding perspective, though i do think it made some major strides in that direction, but the character scenes were teriffic.

Dutch and Claudette make me all warm and fuzzy inside. lol

It was cathartic to finally hear him admit that he was responsible for a lot of what Shane has become.
This was a really significant scene in the scheme of things. While i'm invested in and often sympathize with Vic, i still want to see him go down for everything he has done. I loved finally hearing those words come from his mouth after years of lying through his teeth and being in denial.

Great fucking episode. I love the relationship between Dutch and Claudette. I never feel Shield episodes are "filler". They all have great characterization so I'm fine with them even if they aren't action packed.
Yeah i'm not seeing "filler" in this episode either. Lots of fantastic character moments and some great continuity as well.

I also actually really like the Danny/Vic stuff. It's when they bring Cassidy into it that i start cringing like no tomorrow.

I am weak. It should've been a sign not to watch it since the link has been corrected to the recap of Episode 1. However, YouTube does not fail.

That said, OhSnapOMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday can't come soon enough!

I think there are 5 episodes left...counting tonight, I wonder...

wow...5 :(

Should be good ones though.

Absolutly cannot wait till tonight.

5 Episodes left:(

Onces its fully finished gonna replay Season 1 - 7.... Its gonna be weird watching the Old Strike Team compared to todays.

Ugh. How can you rewatch the earlier seasons again? Like you said, it's going to weird. It's one of those shows where watching every season from beginning to end is good enough once and that's it.

The Strike Team has been barely functioning for a long time. And we're not the only one's noticing! Claudette said as much last episode, talking about the "Meth situation, which you guys are supposed to be on top of..."

Strike Team barely worked after Lem. Though, I have to wonder, in "Shield time" how long ago that might have been.

So partially due to the suggestions in this thread, I decided to start watching the series from the beginning (as of now I've only seen from Season 5 on). I'm worried that however the show ends is going to be something that hearkens back to the team's early exploits and I'm not going to get the significance. So I'm gonna keep the rest of this season on my Tivo until I can binge through the series as fast as possible. As such, I think I'm bowing out of this thread until I can catch up.

Hope it doesn't take long.

HOLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.

Man I hope they can keep it up the final four episodes. Hopefully this isn't the pinnacle of the season.

Shield episodes are always good, but this one was just...epic.

Can't wait for next week's episode...Tonight's was so intense, the hour felt like a minute!

In the preview for next week,
it looked like Vic will find Shane
...Let the speculations begin!! :D

shock and awe level of awesomock tonight. The episode makes me feel ok, even with a RROD 360!!

The amount of "WTF???" expressions, especially Dutch's in the camera, when the truth came out....:lol :lol :lol

There "were" 5 episodes :(

Well according to wikipedia there are 5 episodes left.

The Shield is the best TV show ever, if season five didn't confirm it, this just did. The tension during that final interrogation scene was unbelievable, that shot of Shane realizing that he's fucked was just....wow.

And it really hit home this episode that the show is ending. With
Shane on the run and Vic turning in his badge
, it's clear that we're at the end.

Holy fucking fuck.
"I'll be right back..."

Pretty excellent episode. Best of the series? I don't know... it was really really fucking good though.

I'm glad Mara is finally in on this, I fucking haaaaaaate her. Hate hate hate.

Wow. That was an incredible episode. The tension was off the charts.

so was their a purpose for bringing back Tyvon from season 3? He hasn't shown up since.

i think he was just there to say his peace and make Shane realize what a piece of shit he is. Who knows though maybe he'll be back.

I'm Euro so am waiting patiently.

Judging by the reactions in here (although I guess it is a captive audience!), is this the best season so far?

Personally I've really rated Season 1 and 3 most highly so far. Special mention, of course, to
Lem's demise which wasn't in Season 1 or 3 - it left me distraught for a day or so afterwards!
<- Was there a need to spoiler that? Better safe than sorry...

EDITED: For stupidity.

Nice to see Dutch and Billings coexsisting with each other. Awesome tag team action going on.

Mara is so hot. She has that Jennifer Connelly look. :O

Also, here's a preview for episode 9:

Episode 9 Party Line:

While Shane remains holed up in L.A. with Mara and Jackson, Corinne decides to cooperate with Dutch and Claudette, who's now spearheading the LAPD effort to bring down Vic. Meanwhile, Vic plays Aceveda, Pezuela, Beltran and ICE against each other. But Ronnie's temped to simply give up and run to Mexico. "And you should run, too, man," he tells Vic.

Damn. Seems like Corrine
tells Dutch and Claudette about all the bad shit Vic has done.

Holy shit that was amazing. One of the most intense hours of television i've ever seen. Perfection.

I can't even process it right now, there was so much shit going down left and right and i was immersed completely in it. Wow.

I don't think it was the best episode of the series, just one of the best. It was the best episdoe of this season so far, but I have a feeling it won't be for long.

Sorry dude, my bad. I meant best season...

I'll edit my dunderheaded original post.

God damn. One of the best hours of television I've ever seen.
The scene where Shane gets outed was fucking perfect, it felt like the defining moment that has been building up for the past two seasons. And I usually hate Mara, but when she shows up to tell Corrine what's going down I was loving it. The last 10-15 minutes of the show felt like it was rushing by at light speed with how quickly everything started coming down on Vic at once. His decision to quit so soon was definitely unexpected, but it was an excellent surprise. The preview for next week looks mind blowing. I'm going to miss this show.

Yeah, that moment was truly "show changing"
Vic had, up to the decision of quitting, had been kind of angling the badge into ICE nicely. But with the decision to risk all that, just to be able to go after shane... apparently, that decision was too much for him to say no to. Sure, there's 100 things he'll probably "go down for", but this decision will probably be it, or at least the start of it.
