The streaming was pretty slow for me before the redesign, but now it works great.
I want to play Persona 4 with Jeff and Vinny.

Endurance run is why I ordered Persona 4 last week. It's really fun getting to see reviewers actually play the game and have the same thoughts as you when something crazy or weird happens. Persona 4 was an awesome choice to try this segment out.

We made some big server/backend changes along with the redesign that should have drastically sped up both video streaming and general page load times. Yay for faster pages.

Whenever I go to GB for the first time, I usually have to wait 3-5 minutes for the whatever it is initially decide to visit to load, but once it does, I pretty much browse the site without problems. Pretty weird, but whatever.

Yeah the shmups looked great, seem a shoe in for XBLA especially that last Rez/Geo Wars one.

Tempted to fire some up now.

Wonder why we haven't seen more Shmups on community games too.

How long can they keep doing the P4 endurance run? I really don't think they're going to stick to it for 90 hours.

they need to put the shooters on XBLA

It pisses me off that they're not Region Free games, like most japanese only games...

I'd kill for Raiden IV and it's previous compilation of raiden games... :(

Im pretty sure the previous compilation is coming to the US

Jeff and Vinny sure love trying to pair up the main character with everyone. They're going to have a blast when the main character actually starts pairing up with everyone :lol

Persona 4 doesn't take 90 hours.

Yeah, there are so many potentially funny moments later on in the game. I just hope they stick with it.

Sorry, 70 hours. The point is that it's an extraordinarily long game and I really hope they stick with it.

I love what Giant Bomb is doing with their site. It has become the only gaming website I go to anymore. Rather than conventional reviews, I find the quick looks just as effective. They also avoid the stigma of having to tack a score onto it.

The Watchmen game looked boring as poop in a bowl. Just play a 16Bit Batman game...

I agree. The future is now.

Yeah me too, I find myself watching every single piece of video footage they make at the moment, even the endurance run and I could never sit down and play a game like Persona. It's just genuinely entertaining to watch Jeff, Ryan, Vinny or Brad play something.

That's exactly what i did back in gamespot days. I would just watch what Ryan, Jeff, Rich and the possy would make, and it was extremely interesting.

Now, we get the best part of gamespot (Jeff, Ryan, Brad) doing something that's really interesting, without any of the dull part.

I really hope they can get along and keep the website working for as long as possible.

the import smhups video was excellent. i really hope Jeff does more of those types of videos for people who don't import. :D

MadWorld looks great, (not just for a Wii Game), half way through the quick look at the mo.

I really like the Artstyle but in watching the video I do look focus a little.

Really nice set off different ways to kill, everything looks like it has a solid feel to it too but what's with the main guys idle animation, is he dancing?

Moving the camera looks a little clucky too.

I'm getting sick watching MadWorld.. Not because of the ridiculous violence, but rather the mix of camera movement and b&w.

I've disliked this game from the start, but apart from my initial critique and the nauseating effect, it now occurs to me that it's also basically a game for people getting into the 14-year-olds' mindset that's 18+.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, certainly there are a lot of 18+ people enjoying this, as can be seen by the positive response alone we have on GAF, but even if it wouldn't make me sick for some reason, I can safely say I'd decline playing this on any occasion because I'm really past that.

Not that I'm a grown-up now or whatever, I certainly enjoy ridiculous nonsense, wacky stuff and all, even with violence mixed in, I watch the occasional gore flick and have fun doing it, but this is beyond the line for me.

Can't quite articulate what exactly it is that makes me feel that way though.

Just watched the Madworld Quick Look. Game looks repetitive and the enemy AI seems idiotic. It was basically enemies running up to the main character and waiting for him to grab them and impale them on something.

This isn't a mature game. It's a game for 12 year olds.

Didn't finish the Madworld quick look. To me it appears (from that quick look) that it's God Hand with Violence instead of challenge, which was God Hands big draw. The same quirky Japanese humor, that I'm not the biggest fan of, the same B level animation and general production, etc.

I think it could be a fun game if there is some more depth and versatility in the fight mechanics and the enemies actually put up a challenge. It's horribly boring running through a marsh of brainless dudes only to get the 'real enemy' after X minutes on every stage.

:\

Madworld was never about the challenge though it certainly is challenging in some aspects like boss fights and higher difficulty levels. It's about preforming the most ridiculous over-the-top kill on an enemy for the most points possible.

I'm sure it'll ramp up as you get further along though (and depending on your difficulty setting). It makes sense that they'd want you to be able to experiment freely with the combosystem in the beginning of the game.

But if that can be achieved easily it will get unrewarding and boring much faster. Challenge improves longevity. Like in God Hand you had silly super attacks that were awesome (like striking someone with a bat to have them blast into space team rocket-style) and enemy interaction were they would grovel at your feet to try to feint you out of your defense, etc. If Madworld wears all of it's fun on it's sleeve, what's there to strive for? Now not all games need to have a challenge to be fun, but your always motivated by something and if it's supposed to be 'it's fun to trash on people in imaginative ways' then I think it'll wear thin pretty fast. :\

How many unique moves can there be? And while you can do several moves to one guy, the order that you do them seems to have no barring on the outcome: Like if you throw a tire over a dude, then stab him in the head with a sign contra if you stab him in the head then do the tire. It would be cool if the tire would drag the sign down to his belly leaving his upper-body split down the middle.

As one of the biggest God Hand fans on this forum, and someone who pimped that game a lot when it didn't get it's due, I can honestly tell you that this game is not like God Hand at all. If you want a comparison, think of Dead Rising. It's not so much about murdering everyone, it's about chaining together kills to get a higher score, which in turns makes the level progress faster.

Basically, you are dropped into an open level where not everything is opened to you so far with the goal of unlocking the boss to fight. To unlock to the boss you need to complete a series of tasks, often times it's getting a certain amount of points to do this. So, the challenge isn't so much that it's hard to beat (it does ramp up even on normal, never close to God Hand level, nor does it even have the fluidity in controls) but being able to properly chain killings and attain a higher score.

I don't think that they have been doing a good idea of explaining what this game actually is, which is why there is a lot of misconception.

The quick-look for MadWorld is a bit painful because they don't show off the variety of moves and finishers you can do... Jeff ran away a little too much and took his time, but I guess since they were filming they wanted to show off the level more, but it just makes the game look boring when it's really not.
