Seriously, this video made me wonder how Brad actually got a job reviewing games when he just isn't that good at them.Swittcher said:GB crew is great, but really makes me wonder how some of them ever got jobs playing video games.

Definitely. As far as I'm aware, Brad is the only english major among them so his skills are undoubtedly needed. Anyways, the whole "Brad sucks at games" thing has always been overblown imo as he is still quite competent, and its been suggested that he only "pulls a Brad" when taped. And its not like being a master at videogames is the most important aspect of reviewing.Shalashaska said:I'd rather have some be a better writer than be a better player.

These people get their jobs because of their writing and ability to critique games not because they good at games.
You don't need to be good at games to have fun with them so why should you need to be to form an opinion for a review?
If only you could RUN and SHOOT at the same time. But wait, this is Resident Evil we're talking about. Got to be ridiculous like that. :loledgefusion said:I've never got irritated by a Quick Look before but for gods sake stop running and shoot the damn things!

Because he's one of the best writers in the industry. That's why he got a job writing about games.OMG Aero said:Seriously, this video made me wonder how Brad actually got a job reviewing games when he just isn't that good at them.

Tamanon said:Although....I'm not sure if they'd really be able to do a full endurance run. Maybe an extended couple looks at it, but wouldn't they have to get the cooperation of the publisher to do an entire video runthrough?
Wowfaridmon said:you know guys, i have been a gamer for a long time and i consider Brad to be better than me. He finished Splotion man lads. how more hardcore do you get to be?
I would watch every episode.Xater said:He said more extensive. Maybe an endurance run?![]()
OMG Aero said:Can someone explain to me what is so great about Deadly Premonition? I've seen lots of people wanting to see the quick look and now it looks like there might be an endurance run for it but I honestly never heard of the game until last weeks I love Mondays when they mentioned it.
Nert said:There are already plenty of ways to watch videos of people with serious skills clear levels perfectly, or clear games in speed runs, or whatever. Giantbomb's quicklooks tends to excel at both being entertaining and giving a more accurate impression of what it's like to play a new game that you probably wouldn't be the master of either in your first half hour or so of game time.

So? An Endurance Run where stuff goes wrong is far, far more interesting to me than a perfect run where the players know everything. I watched the Persona 4 ER for Jeff & Vinny's commentary, not to see a the game played to completion perfectly.EmCeeGramr said:Yeah but then you get stuff like the Endurance Run where 50 hours later they're still staring at fusing menus and going "huh," (because they never once selected the "talk" option in the room they spent at least 20 hours of real world time in) or using up weeks worth of free days near the end of the game by running into the beef bowl place to slightly raise a single personality stat.
