As much as I appreciate Quick Looks, not all of them are made equal. Some Quick Looks give you the full idea of what to expect, and some don't. The Sonic Colors Quick Look is the latter. Can you imagine how people would have reacted to a Quick Look of Twlight Princess if they started from the very beginning?

Here's what you should expect from Sonic Colors.

That looks exactly like the QL. Dull, uninspired and on-rails nonsense. Cool music though.

How the fuck did Ryan go through the jankiest, BAM-iest Kinect game yet and say "It's not bad" and "You could do worse."
Because he thought it wasn't bad, and you could do worse? Playing Kinect vs. watching Kinect are two very different experiences.

He probably thinks back to "Rider meet horse, horse meet rider" and realizes it's not as bad.

Aren't there any other games more deserving of a QL than this garbage?

Speak for yourself, if it weren't for GB's quick looks I wouldn't know the first thing about Kinect and Move. It is garbage though.

How many Game Room QLs have there been?

How many Virtual Console/PSN classic game QLs have there been?

Oh and they did take a look at Babysitting Mama and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts during the Whiskey Media happy hour in the last couple of weeks, so... I dunno, subscribe or something?

I hope the GT5 quick look is 30+ minutes to show the sick amount of content, could see them kinda skimming over the game.

I don't think any of them care so much for racing simulators so I wouldn't expect exhaustive coverage of it.

The Forza 3 quicklook was quite good but you just can squeeze so much amount of content into it. You almost have to sacrifice some content.

it was, yes, but Jeff was pretty honest that he's not really into sim racers at all. they spent quite a bit of time in the livery editor for that QL.

A GT5 QL might end up with them in photo travel mode and doing some racing with chase cam. (man, do i hate chase cam in sim racers. ugh)

Good Lord. That Danny Trejo fighting game looks absolutely terrible. How the hell are you supposed to keep your feet completely still while throwing punches?

The Wii's been out for 4 years now and this is still the best anyone can figure out what to do with motion controls.

Controllers 4 life.

Yeah, especially Move Controllers.

Dude - The Fight is awesome. Sure the presentation could be better, but frankly, all you can blame it for is being too hardcore - it's not too kind on people who don't have a clue about this thing, and it is almost too realistic (i.e. if you can box, you can play this game, otherwise, you'll have a bit of a learning curve, part of which can be very physical).

You should check out the OT. Here's me messing about with the tracking.

Haven't they been trolling the game in their podcasts? They should be the last people you'd want to get impressions or opinions on the game from.

except for that bit about not moving your feet, right?

Oh, the head-tracking doesn't work for me either - it needs pretty much a green/white screen behind you. But it is nevertheless the best fighting game I've ever played, simply because I can do the punches myself, and any way I want them. There are some silly things in this quick-look, like the comment about 'within the confines of the animation engine' - you can hit any way you like anywhere you like, basically. The animation system does a pretty good job at keeping up with you most of the time (it can look a bit silly at times when you watch the replay, but your fist goes where your hand goes, and that's what matters).

But OH MY GOD at the point where he goes into the abilities screen, he THINKS he has 1 new ability point (he has 60), that he THINKS he spends on Heart (but in fact he presses back/cancel), and then proceeds to keep on fighting not having spent a single ability point.

"It seems like sometimes there is a timer but it's not really good about telling you there is?" ... Honestly. It tells you for each fight you enter that has a timer (always related to cash).

I love the Target Practice training in this thing, it's awesome.

edit: stopped 15 minutes in, the fights don't look good at all. Punches feel super weak, more like dragging the arms around, sometimes the opponent (and your own model) react to just being touched without a real punching motion because the mapping of what you're doing to the actual model is so wonky.

Give me a proper Fight Night game over this any fucking day.
The punches looked super weak because it was 1-1 tracking. Did you see how weak Alex was throwing his arms?

There's only so many piece of shit shovelware QLs a man can take. With the glut of Move/Kinect I'm have had my fill for now. Only skimmed it and closed the video after a couple minutes.

edit: and there's so bad it's good (Wipeout, The Fight), and then there's just bad. This is just bad.

edit²: I also blame Alex Navarro for bad QLs.
