Guess that would make more sense. But then again the hammer's shock wave is so powerful it just nukes the enemies that are close.Zabka said:Warhammer looks ok. It would be a lot more fun if the power hammer sent Orcs flying through the air instead of popping them like balloons.

OH MY GOD how does a person go through years of schooling and still talk like that?

I'd still prefer Quick Looks of old and obscure games durring the summer doldrums instead.
Raide said:Just not feeling Warhammer. Maybe you have to be a massive fan to understand and buy into the idea. The overall look reminds me of Gears 1, so hopefully it sells enough to warrant another games and gets the polish and upgrades it deserves.

There never was a cover system to begin with.SteveWinwood said:I'm happy they took out the cover and added in that health regen system. Looks 10 times better now because of that.
I could try to save face and claim that I meant that taking a cover system out of the third person shooter model is what I meant... but I didn't.derFeef said:There never was a cover system to begin with.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape doesn't have a bad camera, and it doesn't have inadequate camera control. It's not like a game is automatically broken if it doesn't use a dual stick camera system.
Towards the end where Kessler is repeatedly screwing up the missile riding section, and Ryan says something like "It's not your fault this game was before camera control" I nearly lost it. The camera wasn't pointing at any awkward angle skewing his ability to complete the task. He just wasn't playing well, which is fine, but it wasn't the fault of the camera.
I've said it before, but GiantBomb has like a grab bag of easy "go to" complaints that they'll lazily slap on games where it doesn't apply. Killzone 3 is dated, everybody.

Yup, this hasn't changed.EchosMyron1 said:Haven't seen the QL yet, but isn't this new Space Marine game a bit different to be called an "imitation" at all? All the videos I've seen thus far have indicated that there's no cover system and a heavy importance on combo-based melee attacks.
Seems a bit too different game-play wise to warrant the GoW comparisons.
I played Space Marine at E3 and the gameplay is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Gears.faridmon said:I am not feeling that Warhammer game at all. The lack of responses suggests I'm doing something wrong (and there is a solution) or nobody finds this annoying...Pazuzu9 said:I can't stand it anymoreeeee.
Whyyyy is the 'playing next' thing always checked to 'Auto'?
I usually like to read a few comments after a video, but since the SHITTY redesign, it flicks immediately to the next one... and I can't click 'Back' on my browser because that takes me back to the initial video homepage, not to the previous video. It's SO ANNOYING ARGH.
Pause the video before it ends for god's sake.Pazuzu9 said:The lack of responses suggests I'm doing something wrong (and there is a solution) or nobody finds this annoying...

I mean, the number of systems they have played that game on says something by itself.
This puts you in the category of people who play old games on a regular bases, as 1st gen of software on a new systeam there was a strong chance a more casual type of player, to them those old ways of doing things will come as a pretty big shock.EchosMyron1 said:All the negative things they were saying about the game say a lot more. They were clearly regarding the game as no longer adequate. Immediately failing to even imagine how a younger audience could ever come to grips with the camera system in Rayman 2.
I'm 19, replayed Rayman 2 on my dreamcast earlier this year. Somehow I managed to deal with a camera system that takes care of itself nearly all the time and can be immediately centered with the tap of a button, somehow.
It's not like games just recently became playable, and new design trends don't invalidate old ones, Rayman 2's camera controls aren't bad just because they aren't the modern standard.

Sega1991 said:This doesn't even stop at old games, either. I remember them basically crapping on Bayonetta because it dared to have things they had determined to be "old" or "dated" - like if I remember right, Ryan was complaining because it had a HUD and a combo meter on screen at all times, among other things. It was, in their words, a "videogame-ass-videogame", and implied that was a bad thing (what else would they rather it be?)
Raide said:I mean that is looks like Gears 1 when it had no polish and a pretty boring palette. Its taken 3 Gears games for them to shine things up and introduce some variation and put out a stunning looking game. The QuickLook seemed a little tedious once the Jetpack-Hammer spree kicked in but that does seem to be the style people want from Warhammer. All my own opinion of course! Don't punch my limbs off!
