The Resistance QL really put that game on my radar. Still a bit hesistant to pick it up now that the onslaught of other games coming out and not having played much of the previous installments. Still, maby down the line.

But wouldn't that be just as weird coming from a giant spider as screeching and roaring is? I agree heavy breathing for a more humanoid enemy type could work. For example, Regenerators in RE4 (the best game).

I really hope Brad and Vinny do a QL for RE 4 HD.

A little late, but:

The most annoying thing about The Gunstringer is that the only reason it doesn't have traditional controls is businesses being businesses. It's a consumer unfriendly move, and will make the game sell less than it would otherwise.

That's just 100% not true. The Gunstringer started out on day 1 as a Kinect only game, and I tackled the design for it to be focused around the things Kinect does awesomely and controllers suck at (analog movements, 2D reticle movement).

Saying that "you could do it with a controller" is an argument you can make for other games too (GH supported controller mode for example), but it doesn't mean it'd be anywhere near as fun, responsive, or cool.

It's one of those things you'll get if you play it instead of watching me on video doing the 7th long demo of a day of demos. Luckily, there's a demo available on XBL you can play and find out for yourself instead of trusting some guy with a weird accent.

:O You were rather entertaining in the quick look :)

I've played the demo at the house of a friend who has a Kinect. My gaming area is too small to work with a Kinect unfortunately. While I agree the controls work fine with Kinect, I personally can't see a reason why they wouldn't work to a reasonably decent degree with a controller. Child of Eden is kind of the same in regards to what you are controlling on screen, and it's fine with a controller. I heard unsubstantiated rumours that people were scoring higher in that game with controller even.

I guess I'm just saying that I can't see how it hurts to give people the choice, and me the opportunity to play your game.

Enjoyed the quicklook btw, The Gunstringer with extra time to polish has become a stellar addition to the 360/Kinect gaming community.

Well, you do have a point, there - one of my favorite games of last gen (if not the favorite, over everything else) was Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - and it was immensely more fun with the bongos, to the point where I can't imagine playing it without them and I'm convinced the "New Play Control" version on the Wii is missing the point.

But, man, I dunno. You bring comparisons to Crash Bandicoot to the table and I can see the resemblance. I instinctively want a controller for that. You bring up GH supporting regular gamepads, and so did Jungle Beat and even Child of Eden.

Not to belittle the work you guys did, but where's Gunstringer's gamepad mode? Surely you'd want to get the game out there to the widest audience possible, and even if the gamepad mode wasn't the ideal way to play, maybe it would help convince some edge cases to get a Kinect, right?

Jeff beat the game and was still having trouble with the handling in Driver.
It's not super arcadey like Burnout but it's not as horrifyingly awful "realistic" as the handling in GTA4. It's maybe 3/4 arcade and 1/4 sim. I like that mix. The pre-release version of Split/Second used to handle the same way until they out BO'd BO.

Driver looks cool, but I'm wondering how any of the plot will matter in any way, considering that Tanner is just going to wake up in a world where none of the game actually happened.

A spoiler is still a spoiler, even if the potential impact is limited by time gone by. It's just past the point where somebody could legtimately get pissy about it being dropped in casual conversation.

Didn't have internet for a week, just about finished catching up on quick looks

My eyes feel like they're going to melt

Then onto the bombcast.

OVERLOAD BEFORE THE LIVE SHOW

watched the quick look of dead island and i think i hate every single aspect about it.

never thought a zombie game could be so devoid of excitement and/or tension.

Man they should get Vinny to do all the quick looks and have Brad learn video-editing.
Eh, Vinny seems always lost somehow. And I do not enjoy the silly stuff he does, like killing himself on purpose.

Turned it off when I realized they put Gears of War in instead of Warhammer, I hate their 360 bias.
Eh?

Weird how reactions are so mixed on this. I think it's fuckawesome™.

He's joking I reckon, ha. Although comparing this to GoW is a bad comparison regardless of how far the tongue is in the cheek. Ultramarines could have COGs anyday. :P

Yeah just mocking the people who were pissed when they dismissed the game and those upset about how they use the 360 too much, all in one post!
