1,5 Million is....a lot
Do cats poo everyhwere on the street?
Do cats bite?
Do cats keep you awake all night with their barking?
There's your answer
You know what's featured in this gif? It's not a dog. :>
It's actually not a lot and this mentality is why people keep getting screwed over by Kickstarters -- devs are way underselling the budget in hopes they'll reach what they really need.
Cars always own dogs. What about cats who own dogs?
Hey everyone! Happy to see that you're all so excited about The Good Life! The campaign does not open to the public for a couple of weeks, but here are some single use codes to access the campaign now - please make sure to mark them as used if you redeem one.
Awesome, how did you get these? Will add your post to OP.

It really isn't, and utterly unreasonably low goals are one of the biggest warning signs that a crowdfunded title is going to fail.
The idea was to release it along with the announcement at his pax panel, but fig ruined the surprise
I don't mean "wow, he needs that much money? For a videogame?" but "I hope this'll get funded"
Fair. I'm optimistic. If Swery can't raise $1.5M then...
Took Number 100, hope i did it right with the marking. Thanks a lot! The details are very intruiging

But dogs are better?
That art style is pretty damn generic...
(If someone could be rad and mark 98 as redeemed, that would be nice- I can't mark it from my phone)
Yes. Right in the ankles.Do cats bite?

Is anyone seeing talk about what platforms? I'm trying to skim but can't find anything in the Fig campaign. PC seems like a no brainer but I'd like to know if consoles are in the cards.

"And now, a word from SWERY:
Hello everyone. I'm SWERY, the director of The Good Life.
Last November, I created my new studio, White Owls, and this is our first official announcement. From the bottom of my heart, I feel so proud to be announcing this game with Fig, a next-generation publisher.
This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay. It's a mystery game based on the framework of a 'daily life RPG.' I'm positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world. Please support The Good Life and help us bring this game to life.
I'm sure this game will make a lot of people happy!
I Love You All!!"

Oh my God. This sounds amazing.
So much of Deadly Premonition's charm was in exploring the town and seeing how everybody spent their time.
I'm dying laughing at this gif while at work. My cats would totally do this all the time if they could type.
I prefer backing things for physical stuff, too. I can understand why they don't have any physical tiers, but I'm slightly disappointed as well.Kinda wish there were reward tiers with a physical copy.
Soundtracks usually get me to get the 2nd tier ones but since I didn't see any music samples, I just went with the cheapest.Backing at $69 (nice).
That being said, uh. I really, really hope these tiers change up some before the full campaign. They rapidly climb in price with essentially nothing added besides a few digital goods. Even the difference between $69 and $129 is ridiculously small, especially since there's no physical rewards at all. No shirts, posters, etc. which I knew eat money and are annoying to fulfill, but get people interested. There's stuff at $500+ that's just exclusive things in game, like other games might throw in for free just for backing.
You need good rewards to have a successful crowdfunding campaign. I mean, if some of the $500+ stuff (not the things being named after you) was in a like $80-$100 tier I might have bit. But I'm a big fan who can afford to splurge a bit for a game I'm this interested in, and even I can't feel comfortable backing over $69 for what I'll get.
Artwork looks like a Layton game. Im in.
Backing at $69 (nice).

Steam and PS4 are the currently planned platforms
Thanks for the code, backed the deluxe variant. Kinda wish there were reward tiers with a physical copy.
