They acknowledged it with a "We know it's happening and we're working on it" statement. Major Nelson shut his Web site down with a message saying the same damn thing. That's all Microsoft P.R. is spouting at the moment.
This is one of the biggest **** ups in software. When you promise to release something like this, you make sure it all works. Then you have contigency plans. Then you have contingency plans for those plans. There should be so many fixes and back ups that nothing goes wrong. But then, to completely alienate an ENTIRE group of people, the majority of the Beta users, with nothing more than "We know it's happening and we're working on it" statements, it's completely unacceptable.
I'm not blaming Bungie because they're not the ones that handled this. But going by the track record of the recent map pack and some other Microsoft things, I'll be seriously surprised if this gets released today. And it wouldn't surprise me if it's not delayed a substantial amount of time.
But most people didn't pay $60 to play the Beta. Crackdown is a hell of a game.
