How can you play with random people on DT? I can't bring myself to do it.
Don't use my mic...might as well be playing with a bot :lol

I always wanted to play with a friend who uses his mic or somebody next to me on his own TV and Xbox.Ramirez said:Don't use my mic...might as well be playing with a bot :lol

In light of that, I was wondering if I might tap you guys for some additional feedback, given that many of you have been extremely active in the Beta. The following was posted on our b.net forums, but I figure I'll put it up here too, for your consideration:

Go back, secure shotgun, hop on a tree, and win. :\op_ivy said:i completely disagree about high ground. 2 on 2 on that map is soooo broken. whomever controls the beach just camps and owns. camps and owns. lame.

From that vantage point, he can see you before you get to the laser. And...that works for a bout 6 seconds 'till he respawns and picks the rifle back up. Your teammate will be sniped and the other guy will rocket your ass back to hades. If you try to come down through the right, assuming you don't get sniped by that point, you'll get splashed by a rocket and a barrage of nades. If you are really good and don't waste much sniper bullets (only 2 enemies and hs ftw), you can stall long enough for you guys to have 2 sniper rifles by the time the rocket guy runs out of rockets. It's fool proof I tells ya!Stinkles said:Use team mate to draw fire and locate sniper.

That's what I've been saying.Sean said:This bothers me too, especially now that there's no Team Skirmish playlist. It should be the other way around, 90% objectives and 10% slayer.

Basically, if someone has a reference to marijuana in their GT, I don't want to play with or against them. I can't remember a positive experience I've had with the ganjam4st3rz or 8luntman420s of the XBL world. Played against these guys tonight. The VIP glitched out of the map so that we couldn't kill him, then regaled us with the tale of he and his mates' triumph in the post game lobby.

I hope the maps are split up such, that we end up with a lot of symmetrical slayer maps with fair respawns in addition to a few objective based maps, and not the other way around. I can't remember, stat-wise, are there more games of Slayer/Team Slayer played, or objective-based games?

Very hectic and crazy but in a good/fun way.

You just called oddball garbage. You must meet a horrific death.siamesedreamer said:Yep.......maybe 5 of the 80 so games I've played have been CTF.
I love CTF. All this VIP and oddball stuff is garbage in comparison.
And FWIW, I've noticed that anytime VIP comes up on Valhalla its practically unanimously voted down every single time.
Oddball on Snowbound with one-melee kills is garbage. Nothing worse than one team, whether it's mine or not, camping with two or three guys in the bottom near shield doors with a shotgun. It makes for a very boring game unlike Halo 2 oddball games which were much more exciting.the disgruntled gamer said:You just called oddball garbage. You must meet a horrific death.
BTW, I got the Shotty rampage medal the other day.
JdFoX187 said:VIP is a fun gametype some times, but I really hate it on Snowbound. People just usually play peek-a-boo with the shield doors there. Now VIP on Valhalla in BTB is fun as hell.

I don't know. I haven't run into people glitching yet in Valhalla in VIP. Of course, I haven't played VIP since the glitch became known to the general populous. But for Snowbound, all the VIP games I've played, the VIP camps inside the base with a shotgun or has a guy with a shotgun with him.Sean said:You've got it backwards IMO.
VIP on Valhalla is crap, people either hide in their bases or worse yet glitch out of the map into the water past the invisible wall so they can't be killed.
Snowbound on the other hand seems made for VIP. The shield doors make it a lot of fun and tactical and the VIP can never hide for too long since the map is small. There are lots of spike grenades too which take out the VIP in one stick so it doesn't feel unfair.
alisdair said:Surely the point there is to get your team to work together, attacking the campers from both sides of the shield door at the same time. Wouldn't/doesn't that work?
(I suck at this game, so I'm probably wrong, please explain.)
So it encourages you to use strategy and grenades. How awful.JdFoX187 said:Oddball on Snowbound with one-melee kills is garbage. Read what I posted above. I've used every kind of trick in the book. It's near impossible if you're against a good team. And Rumble Oddball blows. Rumble Pit needs to be slayer-based games only. There should be an objective-based rumble pit playlist as well.the disgruntled gamer said:So it encourages you to use strategy and grenades. How awful.
Besides, Team Oddball is no where near as fun as Rumble Oddball.
I disagree. Oddball is a really frantic gametype, and Rumble Oddball is great. When it's just you with everyone else coming to get you, you need to be pretty talented to get away. Of course, I can't actually argue effectively since you haven't actually presented any examples of WHY Oddball blows.JdFoX187 said:Read what I posted above. I've used every kind of trick in the book. Also, you keep complaining non-stop about High Ground's respawns while you admit to nothing about Snowbound's respawns, which are way worse. We can go 'round in circles until the end of the Beta and Halo 3 comes out.the disgruntled gamer said:I disagree. Oddball is a really frantic gametype, and Rumble Oddball is great. Also, you keep complaining non-stop about Snowbound's respawns, while you say nothing about high Ground's respawns, which are way, way worse. Now, I know that everyone is grossly in love with High Ground, but we all need to admit that the respawns on that map are TERRIBLE. I've not actually encountered any respawn troubles on Snowbound, but High Ground has terrible spawns in just about every game.
...happens to me all the time in High Ground. The worst is spawning near the back by the trees and then as you're walking into the open, having 3 or 4 guys spawning behind you. No chance.JdFoX187 said:Snowbounds are much worse. I have never had an entire team spawn on top of me in High Ground, which happens all the time on Snowbound.
It's not a problem of the actual location you spawn in but that location relative to the other team. There can't be set respawns for any kind of game save for maybe objective games like Flag and Assault. But even then, I've played assault games on Valhalla where the team spawns literally on top of us when we're defending the bomb to detonate it.dralla said:exactly, why dont you spawn in the underground tunnels in Snowbound?
Okay, so you have no examples of Rumble Oddball being bad. Whatever, we'll move on.JdFoX187 said:Also, you keep complaining non-stop about High Ground's respawns while you admit to nothing about Snowbound's respawns, which are way worse. Snowbounds are much worse. I have never had an entire team spawn on top of me in High Ground, which happens all the time on Snowbound. I'm not even that in love with High Ground. I prefer Valhalla to it a lot more. The worst respawn I've ever had on High Ground was one time and I was spawned in the open area with a sniper down at the beach. But that happens in all maps.
